Cook To Sit vs. Bulls

This time, Daequan Cook will listen to his body and sit out. Cook Shooting

After pushing through a right shoulder strain to play in Friday's victory at Indiana, Heat shooting guard Daequan Cook confirmed Sunday that he will sit out against the Bulls and rest until the injury heals.

Cook, who had nagging shoulder injuries through each of his first two seasons in the league, re-injured his right shoulder last Thursday while doing exercises with a medicine ball in the Heat's weight room. He was initially going to sit out Friday against the Pacers, but decided to test the shoulder after a pregame workout.

Obviously affected by the discomfort, Cook was 1 of 9 from the field and 1 of 3 from three-point range in 17 minutes off the bench.

"I think he showed some toughness, gutting it out the other night," coach Erik Spoelstra said Sunday. "But it didn't really get any better. It's still just a strain."

Spoelstra said Cook has not required extensive tests, such as an MRI exam. But Cook said it has been difficult to sleep because he unintentionally rolls over on the shoulder and finds himself waking up in pain. Cook said he "somewhat" regrets playing on Friday.

"It just needs to get better," Cook said. "It's tough for me to get it going right now. When you sleep, you can't really control how you sleep. I be in difficult positions - and I don't realize it until I get up."

Cook plans to get extended treatment and therapy over the next two days in hopes of being available for either Tuesday's home game against Phoenix or Wednesday's game at Washington.

ummh... im sorry if im too little exaggerated for this, but i just wanted to make our team more competitive for those 3 big team in our conference just like the MAGIC, CELTICS, CAVALIERS we're they been upgraded also for the WESTERN TEAM, like LAKERS, SPURS, NUGGETS... so on the otherhand i think we have to made trade, for us to make look much competitive than what we are now...

check this out... what if we make trade to (MEMPHIS) *RUDY GAY has no extension yet & i think this trade would be fair for them as well as for us...

D.WRIGHT, & DIAWARA + 2nd round pick 2010 for: *RUDY GAY...

then, we make a 3 team trade...
HEAT-UTAH-WOLVES i guess this would be fair enough on each team respectively...
it goes this way accdg. to espn trade machine... HEAT: HASLEM,JAMES JONES,QUINN & MAGLOIRE
UTAH: BOOZER
WOLVES: AL JEFFERSON

HEAT RECEIVE: AL JEFFERSON
UTAH RECIEVE: HASLEM,JONES,QUINN
WOLVES RECIEVE: BOOZER,MAGLOIRE

thougths???

line-up:

sg WADE(pg) / COOK
pg CHALMERS / ARROYO
sf BEASLEY(pf) / *GAY / Q-RICH(sg)
pf O'NEAL,J.(c) / RANDDOLPH,S.
c *AL JEFFERSON(pf) / ANTHONY,J.

Cook's injury description may be due to rotator cuff instability/inbalance. I wonder if he has been tested for this and given appropriate rehab with exercises to strengthen the rotator cuff.
