Can't stop laughing...
...both about Shaq ripping on Chris Quinn (I mean, come on... pick on someone your own size) and about this comment from Sarah's post: "You've got to be kidding? Retire his jersey? Where's Israel?"
Well, here I am, and here's my take on Shaq's comments: It's Shaq! What else do you expect?
Ricky Davis (notice I'm not defending him, just Quinny) said it shows Shaq's true colors. Anyone who has been paying attention since, say, 1996, knows that Shaq has always been about Shaq and nothing else. If the Suns hadn't turned things around and started winning of late, he'd be complaining there just like he was here.
I happen to be in Phoenix and plan on talking to Shaq for a story before I leave, and, if he'll speak to me, I plan on asking him why he has to be such a hater after he has already exited. Hopefully he'll give up some good stuff. I know I'm no Jackie MacMullan, but I'm sure he has more messages to get across.
To me, it's a credit to Dwyane Wade that he was able to maintain a good relationship with Shaq. I'm sure he had to work real hard to turn a deaf ear to some of the stuff Shaq said. Then again, now that Shaq's gone, I'd like to see Dwyane be more assertive in his leadership role and not worry about his teammates liking him, necessarily. Don't know how much Steve Kerr liked Jordan after MJ punched him in the face, but it got the message across (Quinny should be careful if Dwyane goes that route).
I know one thing for sure, if Riles comes back next year, he'll have a lot easier time coaching this group now that Shaq's gone. Stan Van Gundy couldn't deal with him, Riley had trouble dealing with him, and pretty soon Mike D'Antoni will find him impossible. Like Terrell Owens said: It's just a matter of time.

glad you got a kick out of that :-)

No, you don't retire his jersey. Shaq is a 'bad-breaker-upper'. Just keep the microphone away from him, if you don't report the assinine things he says, he just fades away in the Arizona sunset.
9/11 WAS an inside job. Inside Al-Queda. Listen to any of OBL's videos post 9/11. Thank God Gore wasn't president at the time!

On the Shaq subject:
I think this backlash is in response to the revelation that he quit on the team.
He quit on the team because he thought Riley was done. As a coach and as a GM.
And Shaq wants to be GM.
Shaq called Wade 'Wonder Boy' and Walker 'Ruben Studdard' hahahahahaahahah.
Zo broke up a fight between Riley and Shaq... Zo the bodyguard...
Shaq has never been loyal to a franchise.
Hilarious revelations to this nightmare fall from grace.

Hey Shawn, I hear you about him HELPING us win a ring but how much help was it ACTUALLY? Check the stats in the series against Dallas....did he really make a big difference? He took up space mostly, so yeah, I guess he did help some. But by no means does that give him the right to tank the last two years. If you want to thank someone, thank Wade.

I think it is hilarious. About time someone called out Riley. he broke up a possible 2-3 champioship team to save money. Now you have Marion (who missed 9 games all career with Suns) out for 12 games. Wade out for the season and Haslem out for the season. Had Riley kept Kapono, Posey and Walker the heat would have had a chance. Shaq is Shaq but at least he is not a bs'r. He tells it like it is no matter who's feeling get hurt. YOu think he was not a big part of the Championship? Get off the Riley juice. Shaw is the reason the heat won. He made Wade a superstar and now he is just another star. Look at the impact he is having on Amare? Do you not see the impact that Shaq has on any team he joins. The lakers are still dead, Miami is dead for a while, and Orlando is just coming back up thanks to Dwight (who is Shaw like) and Stan. I will watch Shaq win another ring. Miami paid heavy for a ring, but also made extreme amounts of money because of Shaq! Even trade. People people....truthurts.com

Once Alonzo Mourning went down the season was offially over.(The only player we should've kept that left was James Posey)Shaq although his presence helped to bring the Championship to the Heat was not as big a factor as Mourning and anyone who doesn't believe that didn't watch the Heat that season! That's why the Suns were a good team for him to go to because they have the outside scoring and defense which the Heat haven't had since the 06'. The only thing that they have to be worried about is not having a back-up center nor PF to effectively give Shaq and Amare' a breather and that's going to crucial coming down the stretch toward the post season and during the playoffs.
