VERO BEACH, Florida – A 49-year-old man told deputies he didn’t want to be arrested because the jail in Vero Beach doesn’t serve beer.

As if there is a jail anywhere that serves beer ..

More beer would be like a gentle touch from god's hand in finding a solution for all his puny social issues.

Yeah, that's tough. I've also heard they don't serve wine or doobies either.

What kind of country is this when you can't get a beer in jail. I bet Australia doesn't have that problem.

Well, he might be able to get a pizza delivered. And (I am informed), for a certain tit-for-tat, he might be able to "spark a doob" or two.

I hear that around there some jurisdictions have luxury jails where rich folks can pay like a hotel to be locked up for the weekend in comfort. Bet the county makes a killing off the mini-bar.

Sorry, that's in Cali. In Florida they probably have beach jails with Tiki bars.

However, if jails served beer there would be a long waiting list to get in.

Doesn't Publix have cell service down there?
