So how HIGH is the street?

I used to go to high school with a Fatberg.

Oh, not that Fatberg? (I wonder what ever happened to him.)

...opened for Meatball.

THIS IS WHY FAT SHOULD BE PUT IN TRASHCAN (a.k.a., BIN)
AND NOT DOWN THE DRAIN, PEOPLE!

Put it into an empty soup (or other) can, mop it up with paper towels, pour it over wadded or shredded newspaper, and throw it away. Never ever put it down a drain. The average temperature in soil is 60 deg F, so pouring some hot or boiling water down the drain as a 'chaser' will work for all of about fifteen feet.
Argh. If they really wanted to educate the folks along that sewer line, they should just let raw sewage back up for about a day. Don't immediately send out a lorry and some men to chisel the blockage out. Then print large color posters and plaster them up and down saying that ignorant lazy people pouring grease down the drain is the cause.
Not that I'm bitter about this subject or anything.

Just thinking about the movie Titanic, if the ship had hit a fatberg instead of an iceberg -- would have been pretty different, I think.

In effect, bypass surgery for a whole street. Pass the chips!

There are many useful things that can be made from a fatberg. They can be turned into candles, cooking oil, used as a vegetarian repellant ETC.

Send in Steve McQueen. Oh, dead. Sorry London, you are doomed to Blobdom.
