credit to Flanders and Swann
A bold hippopotamus was standing one day,
On the banks of the cool Shalimar.
He gazed at the bottom-as it peacefully lay,
By the light of the evening star.

Away on a hilltop sat combing her hair,
His fair hippopotami maid.
The hippopotamus was no ignoramus,
And sang her this sweet serenade:

Mud, mud, glorious mud,
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood.
So follow me, follow,
Down to the hollow,
And there let us wallow in glorious mud!

if you've never heard Flanders and Swann, you should
Live recording from 1959

Pink Floyd cranked up as high as possible . . .

well come on, then.

Don't stand underneath that thing.

.. waves Hi! to mud ..

I saw them open for these guys in '69.

*hops back on geezer bus*

And if you go chasing rabbits....

Jeff - thanks for the earworm! I loved that song. White Rabbit wasn't either, Ralph. But Rubber Ducky sucked big time.

So, if the hippo farts, will there be a lawsuit?
