These Paintings Are Actually Made By Puking Flies

(Thanks to Ralph)

We saw them open for the Ramones.

"If someone asked you if regurgitating flies were an artistic medium your gut instinct might be to answer "no." But you would be wrong."

This is typing, not writing. Colored fly specks are not art, as evidenced by the depicted work. They look more like paintball targets. I am always challenged by crossgirl's art, because it's pretty, butt usually doesn't make sense, to me. The piece she is working on now has a prominent fence, butt no real rails. I mistook it for a military cemetery, albeit a pretty and charming one. My mistake, it must be a fence. Artistically, crossgirl does not see the lefty-righty parts of fences to be integral, as, say the uppy-downy portions may be. Whom am I to question this? I stand corrected.

However, chastised as I am, I am sure I am not wrong if I don't think colored fly vomit is art.

And Dave is mistaken, as I was at that show. Fly Vomit opened for the Plasmatics, not the great Ramones.

Exactly how do you make a fly nauseous? Do you give them little burritos with bad meat? Spin them around a few times? Make them watch and smell a few episodes of Honey Boo Boo's show? I agree with CJRun. This ain't art.

Ewwwwww. Gross.

I told you, "Modern Art"!

Who, I ask, just who actually thinks of these things? If you gave me a million years and some fly larvae (please don't), I would still never come up with this.

now, THIS is fly art!

Where the hell is PETA when you need them?

Cindy, you don't have to make them upchuck. They do it as part of their eating process.
Just refer to that fine documentary, "The Fly" starring Jeff Goldblum for an example.

How is this guy considered an artist? He didn't create anything; the flies did.

Now, the fly art that ligirl linked to...that's done by an artist!

I am betting he is single...
