The horny, freezing, exploding wood frog

I get the horniness and the explosion, but these attributes don't seem compatible with the freezing.

Probably not the best one to kiss.

By stuffing their cells full of sugar, the frogs can push water out of them, preventing them from exploding when they freeze

Hence, the seasonal hot chocolate, eggnog, Christmas cookies, and fruitcake.

It's not gluttony; it's a public safety issue, dude.

I saw Exploding Horny Frogs warming up for Mandrill in '74. Helluva show.

They're not so different than us:

"The females usually leave after mating, while males might stick around to mate some more"
