Does anybody else find it troubling that it's possible for a passenger to punch through an airplane window?

Uh, yeah. Especially considering that JetBlue is our go-to airline.

Will he be represented by the law firm of Ouver, Under and Dunn?

He was actually mad because they ran out of copies of "Famous Jewish Sports Legends."

With JetBlue, I'm surprised it wasn't a screen window.

Rest assured he didn't have more than 3 oz of shampoo on him.

Later he was taken to the hospital.
The hospital - What is it?
It's a big building for sick people, but that's not important right now.

"Exposed the exterior of the aircraft"? "Struck the outside of the window"? Either these guys wuz ridin' on the wing (in which case I'm not surprised @ their status of "upsettageness"), or the "exterior of the aircraft" wuz previously NOT "exposed" - meanin' that JetBlue has Stealth capabilities...
I certainly appreciate it when "reporters" cover ALL the possibilities ...

After his arrest his mom removed his tv and X-Box from the basement because he is so going to be grounded. In more ways than one.

jeff- why the comment about famous jewish sports legends? the guy had a hispanic name? why infer overbearing jewish mother - even tho that is frequently redundant...... you gots me confusled here.

Some people should just not make it thro' screening.

Queensbee: You need to watch Airplane!, stat.
As for this guy, I hope JetBlue sues him for the repair costs. That'll teach him to control his temper.

Captain S: actually, I doubt it will. Consider all the rage he must have been bottling up, prior to this point. I mean, I don't want to even think about what happens when his cable feed goes out.

As long as the repair crew used duct tape instead of masking tape, I wouldn't be worried.

Elaine Dickinson: Would you like something to read?
Hanging Lady: Do you have anything light?
Elaine Dickinson: How about this leaflet, "Famous Jewish Sports Legends?"

"Does anybody else find it troubling that it's possible for a passenger to punch through an airplane window?"
Actually, I'm more concerned they let people from New Jersey board a plane, especially in Florida.

Want lunch ? That's $ 15.00 Want a pillow ? That's $ 5.00. Want a window that can't be punched out ? That's $ 25.00.

I am sure he already has a liability attorney lined up to sue for his hand injury.

Here I go getting all technical, but the inner window is thin plastic. Also there's a small hole at the bottom to equalize pressure, so the outer window withstands about 10 psi (cabins are pressurized to 8000 feet, outside is maybe 2-3 psi) times the area of the window, maybe 150 square inches, for a total of 1500 pounds. So I'm guessing it would take a hefty punch to break the outer window. Still, you prefer not to try it on your flight. I'm amazed that he had the strength to throw a punch given the waits on some flights.

TDM Steves? Um, I hate to ask, but how do you know these fascinating factoids?
Me? My best exams were always under pressure.
