Southwest may be known for any number of things, but being "customer friendly" is not one I would have included in the list.

If you can afford the business select fares, you shouldn't be griping about a $5 beer.
But I respectfully disagree with Omni--I've found Southwest's customer service to be much better and more effective than other airlines. Just my experience and IMHO.
