Here's a nice review for my forthcoming book, which -- it goes without saying, considering the title -- is set in Miami:

Dave writes books?

I have already pre-ordered my copy and I cannot wait until January!

i guess so, Ms. Flukey -

& apparently he's already written about the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd coming

To quote the Texas press: Is this the long-awaited "Dave Barry Turns 62 1/2"?

You beat me to it, Ms. Flukey.

I must admit, it sounds really funny. Maybe I'll give it a try. Who am I kidding? I've read every other book Dave has ever published so of course I'll read this even if it was dreck, which it clearly isn't.

Dave shouldn't be so disparaging of his horn.

So it's kind of a documentary? Or, what do you call those things that are about real life but aren't movies?

Only "read", Jeff? Not "re-re-re-re-re-read, till the covers fall off and the pages are translucent with peanut butter and pizza stains?"

(Counting the days til 1/29/13...)

Betsy most of my older Dave books have Cheez-It dust and Oreo cookie crumbs between the pages.

Hopefully will be closer in tone to "Big Trouble" as opposed to "Tricky Business" (Although I did like Carl the Conch.)

The summary review sounded pretty good, albeit with the usual stock characters (amorous orangutan, Miss Hot Amateur Bod, etc.) Until the end, where the pirate ship really sold me.

Only "fourth runner-up" ... ?

Seth must really be a loser ... now I'll hafta read the book to find out her significant statistical analyses of the circumstance ...

It depends on the book, Betsy. My favorite is probably the BOOK OF BAD SONGS but there are many other contenders.

Yet another reason to hope the world doesn't end on 12/21/12.

Will pre-order it as soon as I get to my home computer. Looking forward to it!

Will there be an Insane City Tour?

Let the strumpeting commence!

*sniff* Did someone just toot in here?

Dave, I always enjoy your books. I have a bookcase full of them. I wish you would do a book tour that would include Michigan.

And Boston! Dave never comes up here. Maybe he's irrationally afraid of states that begin with "M."

How about North Carolina? Nobody ever comes here.

Not to be confused with "Insane County," which compiles all the Flathead County blog posts.

*adds to the clamor, demanding an "Insane City" tour stop in SuSoCal*

I saw the Sly Observations open for the Stones in '75....

I'm in.
