He was a lucky guy. In Arizona, three gentlemen in a fist fight -- what were the odds that none of the three had a sidearm they just hadn't deployed yet?
In Detroit, the headline would have read "Bystanders, off-duty cop, two INS agents, a nun, and a troop of Boy Scouts shoot man with sword. Police decline to press charges." Probably the same in Miami, except one or more of them would have been naked.
