It turns out that more than 1,600 suspected marijuana plants that a special police squad ripped out of a yard in Lethbridge, Alta. this summer are a species of daisy.

Is our policemens learning?

I heard this morning the Chicago cops have already burned the huge number of pot plants they recently found. I suspect they had a problem with crowd control downwind of the incinerator.

oopsie

I guess there isn't much enough weed growing that far north for them to recognize it when they see it.

The plants in Chicago covered about 2 football fields alongside the Bishop Ford Freeway.

The Trib online headline would have made Bishop Ford laugh

I'd like to have some of what they were smoking

Next time, Mr. Rockman, just put up a big sign that says "These Are Not Marijuana Plants!"

There. Problem solved.

It's actually OK. The police turned out to be merely security guards.

Maybe the police should send some flowers?

Sgt Stadanko, is that you?

Actually spiny, his name is Abe Snidenko. He's a friend and former colleague of mine. He is a legend in Canadian law enforcement. And he hates Cheech & Chong for that song. Of course, we, his friends, use every possible opportunity to tease him about it. It's just what we do..

That's what friends are for!

The guy is still standing for other drug charges. Was he popping petunias? getting high on Hydrangeas?

They told the cops to go out and destroy any weed patches they could find. Just got to be more specific next time.

They got him for paraphernalia; he had a dandelion bong.
