The reason the sons live longer is because the mothers constantly lament their sons not becoming doctors, and the sons don't want to give them anything else to complain about.

Guy - according to the article there is a connection between the females going into prolonged menopause and their male offspring living longer. It brought to mind several Jewish Mother jokes.
