Not a resume item, cheating at scrabble.

There are at least a dozen websites listing cheat apps for the smartphone version of scrabble. I don't understand the point of using something like that unless, of course, money were involved.

My Mom, God rest her soul, tried to use Pfft as a word when we played.
She was 80, was my mom, gave me the "look." She got to use the word.

The Scrabble world is abuzz? Couldn't it only be abuz(blank tile)?
When I was going through my parents' papers and pictures, I encountered THE TILE that was the subject of much consternation. The missing U was small stuff where the special rule was created so that the person who drew the Q could declare and get a credit for having the vowel after three turns. The F that disappeared was almost the cause of armed violence.
The F sits next to my Mom's AP Stylebook, LA Times Stylebook and Scrabble Dictionary and my Turabian and Strunk & White.

I love Scrabble, but am baffled about some of the words they allow vs. not. There is a completely legitimate word, OXER, that is a kind of horse jump. It's in every dictionary but Scrabble doesn't allow it.
