He was cranky because he hadn't taken his Metamucil that day.

Well, I don't think those kids robbing the place will have any problems with regularity. They will have some serious underwear washing to do. Not to mention the blood stains.

[rant on]
What infuriates me about this sort of event is the tone of the young guns' comments afterwards. They seem to think that the shooter somehow interfered with their right to commit armed robbery. Gettin' so a miserable young jerk can't make a decent livin' anymore.
[rant off]
How unfortunate. What a pity those two young men were injured.

What's sad is somewhere some weenie lawyer is thinking of ways to sue Mr. Williams on behalf of the two thugs. "Your honor their gun was rusty and not even loaded. They did not intend to hurt anyone. Mr. Williams had no right to shoot these two innocent victims. By doing so he inflicted not only physical pain but emotional trauma as well."
I say they should give him the key to the city. He's a hero in my book.

I'd take off a couple of points for style for using a one hand stance instead of two hand. That's just a personal preference, though.
When a place is robbed, one of the first questions that police ask is "Was anyone fired recently?"
In this case, the 'fired' could be misinterpreted, but I suspect that the perp will rise to the top.

They were chased out by 3 guys. Gramps, Mr Smith and Mr Wesson. (apologies to Clint Eastwood)

Love stories like this. They weren't expecting him to be armed, huh? Well, punk, that's kinda the idea.

I love the way he chases them. You can tell these aren't the first varmints he has had occasion to take target practice on.

Henderson, not surprisingly, isn't enthralled with Mr Williams. He thinks that the elderly man should have stopped shooting once he was already on the ground.
'I was down, and I’m not going to continue to shoot you,' he said.
Evidently, Mr. Henderson is a proponent of rules and thinks Mr. Williams broke one. The problem with that is that once you break the law, they're called Rules of Engagement and there aren't very many of them.

I guess he was supposed to know the "rusty gun" wouldn't fire? Hey moron, people who hold up stores with water guns are charged just the same. As for getting shot, you're too young to remember this but...if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
