"I set fire to her brain"

Great. This story made me cry! I've always told family members to be careful about what they say around a patient's bed because they can hear you. I hope this little girl continues to get better.

Well, one of Adele's songs once put me into a coma, so she's back to even. I think it was that "who wants to be right as rain" song. Frickin' thing never ENDS.

I misread that Adele had awoken from a coma. Too bad it isn't true. (And I hope the little girl stays awake and healthy.)

Better break all her Kenny G. CD's or she'll be right back in the hospital again.

Wonderful news. The scientist in me wonders whether it was specifically the fact that they loved the music; would some other favorite have worked? Would Adele had worked otherwise? Or that style of music? There've been studies showing detectable effects of different kinds of music in other contexts, so who knows. Somebody should set up a study; there should be enough people in the (right kind of) coma to give it a try...
