Huh? My post disappeared.
I said, I'd like to see them try this in January. Otherwise, it's a cool idea, though I wouldn't "park" my kayak at the "curb" and expect it to be there when they return.

and i wouldn't "expect" to not smell like the inside of a "gym bag" when i arrived at the "office" either.

I understand they tried paddling up the Gowanus Canal, but their kayaks melted.

"We’re hoping to get the community together and go from two, to four, to 10, to 15," Schwitzky said. "Then the boats will get out of our way." Don't bet on it.
The ferries and barges are not the problem; they're relatively slow and predictable. It's the drunken sailors in muscle boats I'd worry about.
If you want to play bumper boats on the Hudson, I recommend something larger than a kayak. A destroyer might work.
