IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

The May 4 th, 2012 invasion by the Chitauri through an inter-dimensional portal caused significant  damage to the New York City area.

I guess I slept through this one.

Unfortunately, they are still backed up in traffic trying to get out of the city. Hizzonor fined them for the transfat cupcakes in their rations and ray guns from Virginia.

I'll forward this to our Chicago NATO-Preparedness HQ.

How would anyone notice? Less traffic? Cleaner city?

Yeah, like that is going to happen, Mikey.

I'm still cleaning up after Loki.

They also do climate modeling.

Jeff are you sure you haven't noticed forty billion dollars worth of damage anywhere? I'd like to know where the Justice League was while all this was going on.

Still not as big a disaster as Heaven's Gate.

Wrong publisher, cindy.

And I will add, once again, Hawkeye didn't do CRAP.

At least it wasn't a Zombie Attack.

Well, I haven't been in Midtown lately, cindy so I can't be sure if the streets are clean yet.

I'd always heard that Chitari liked to hang around Midtown Starbucks listening (spying?) to all the scuttle.

You can spot them drinking a non-Starbucks drink, as they don't do coffee.

Which park did they occupy this time ?

Them invaders wanna take NYC?

I say we should let 'em ...

I'm getting tired of bailing out New York every time there's an alien invasion, mutant uprising or giant ape escape. The government of New York should know by now that there is going to be some massive destruction every other year and budget occasionally. I'm willing to pay for something unexpected like terrorists, but alien invasions should be considered part of normal wear and tear on the city.

Wait until one of them tries to marry a Puerto Rican girl. Cowboys & aliens will pale. We gonna see a choreographed rumble.

It doesn't matter; the Vogon Destructor Fleet will be here soon anyway.

Max, I hear Toyko has it much worse.

max, surely with the lack of snow this year Mayor Bloomberg should have had enough to cover the cleanup.

If not he could take it out of petty cash.

I grew up outside of New York City, and this was precisely the reason I left. I lost three cars this way, and my car insurance company finally said they wouldn't cover any more damage from alien firefights.

Steve, I don't pay taxes in Japan so I have no idea whether or not Tokyo covers itself or depends on federal disaster funds.

Jeff, if I recall correctly the lack of snow was considered an emergency and they spent those funds on it. Snow plow operators & city employees were issued checks as if it had been a very severe winter to make up for the economic loss caused by not being able to charge the city for snow removal & overtime due to snow emergencies.

yeah, i gotcher intahdimensional pawtal right heah.

Minx, I, too, grew up outside NYC as did every other sane person in the United States, except in Florida which proves the rule.

Yowzah,, QB!!
