How nice.
Especially since yesterday was Mother's Day.
I hope he got lots of cards and letters.

This must be someone playing the reporter, the name of the security director interviewed for the article is Norman Bates. I don't think so. Anyone here old enough to remember Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Psycho?

yikes.

Mother?

i ssecond the yikes.
imagine doing anything with that name. Yes, Bates, party of two, just me and mum.....
shudder

I was just thinking of the great Saturday Night Live bit with Tony Perkins yesterday: The Norman Bates School of Motel Management.

The correct answer to every question is "hack him to death with a kitchen knife."

SOrry, hack her to death...

When Norman Bates was a boy, did they call him Master Bates?

"Anyone here old enough to remember Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Psycho?"

Appropriately for Mother's Day weekend it ran Saturday afternoon on TCM.

Mom still resisted going to the root cellar.

Stay the hell out of the shower.

The second floor of a Knight's Inn? The ones 'round these parts are all one-storey pre-fab tornado bait. California must be fancier than we are. Well, I suppose that goes without saying.

According to howmanyofme.com, There are 98 people in the U.S. named Norman Bates.

What were his choices? Hotel Security or butcher.

98 people names Norman Bates but how many of them would you expect to find in the security/hospitality industry?

Marc, thanks - I love that website!
