The Huffington Post? Nice career move.

Great article Dave. I like your idea for the motto and I'm shocked! the Miami Chamber Of Commerce hasn't embraced it yet.

I saw the Naked Causeway Cannibals open for the Python Invasion at Coachella.

Up here in DC we call him the Miami Zombie. Which would also be an excellent rock band name.

Stop, Dave. You're making me hungry.

...and not in a cannibalistic way, let me hasten to add.

great interview. you da man, dave.

A trainmate is moving to Florida. She discovered that her auto insurance is jumping from $100 a month for family coverage to $300 per month.

Welcome to Florida.

NMUA, tell her to raise the deductible on bullet hole repair, that'll knock the bill down a bit. Also suggest she learn how to apply Bond-O to bullet holes.

for Dave

Miam-ories...
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercooler memories
Of the way we were
Scattered gunshots
Of the crimes we left behind
At a stoplight lost my memory
For the way we were (...going)

Can it be that it was a SHARK?! on the PEOPLE MOVER??!?!
'Cuz they didn't want to wait on line?!
If they had the chance to do it all again
Tell me - Would they? Could they???

Miam-ories....
May be beautiful and yet
Never, ever, Ever Booooring
('Where's my cervesa: did you forget???')

So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were

Bravo, ligirl!

Awesome as usual. What's a "medianoche"? Apparently it goes well with beer.

Dave wrote a book? And I must have be in a time warp, because apparently the Starcatchers' series didn't come out until 2011, but I've been reading them for years...

"...a world tittering on the edge of various apocalypses. "

What better place than Miami for tittering?

Guin:

A medianoche consists of roast pork, ham, mustard, Swiss cheese, and dill pickles. It is a close cousin to the Cuban sandwich, the chief difference being that a medianoche is made on soft, sweet egg dough bread similar to Challah rather than on crustier Cuban bread.

i need a medianoche. but no cheese. meat and cheese together isnt kosher.

"Dave Barry" contains 9 letters. "Mark Twain" contains 9 letters. Coincidence?

Miami: Eat It Like a Native!

Thanks for a great read, Dave. As a native of Miami, I can say you have a knack for making the gritty parts of life put a smile on our faces.
