She's huge.

Can I ask why? It was a very dull review of a dull restaurant.

Oh man, you just can't go around calling a woman huge. You'll get slapped silly!

Unless it's Siouxie, then you'll get the machete.

I'm looking forward to her review of Taco Bell, assuming she ever goes there....(pun intended)...

Yeah, that was my question. Why is she huge?

Elon ... it's not whut she said, so much as it's the phenomenon created by all the snarky (and complimentary) comments ... and over 400,000 hits on the website ...

(and I'm pleased that Jeff sent this in ... I dunno how to do that sorta thing, and hoped the news of this "sensation" would reach the DBB)

funny man ... I think she's already done the Taco Bell review ... and prolly Taco John's as well ... and about 2,000 others, over the years ...

... um ... update ... make that 700,000 hits ...

(most of 'em have been supportive, according to Marilyn's statement on the subject ...)

Go Marilyn!

A genuine, unconceited person giving a straightforward, informative review? Have we gone mad??

Now that the true influence of this blog has been revealed, I hope Dave et al will use their powers for good rather than evil.

(By evil, of course I mean promotion of Barry Manilow.)

I saw her on TV. She looked to be about 5'6" tall. That's hardly "huge" to me!

She looks like the sort of person you'd want to take out to a nice afternoon tea, doesn't she? :)

She is, P'B' ... very "old school" in manners, sense of propriety and as unintrusive as a person in the newspaper business might ever be ... over the years when I still wuz near enuf to get the Herald on the same day it wuz issued, she shared a lot of her life with the rest of the world ... at least NE Nodak and NW Minnesnowta ...

Now that I think about it ... her "sharing" and thots and so forth wuz a lot like ... a blog ... (but knownin' whut she thinks of blogs, I'd best not tell her that) ... a genuinely nice person, who cares about the folks and the world around her ...

And more sophisticated than a lotta bloggers and snarksters ... which thot could lead to an entirely different train of thot ... a "new thread" ... so to speak ...

Whutever ... whut she does is popular where she lives ... that's it ... once again, it's not whut she said (she's done that thousands of times), it's the hundreds of thousands of "hits" that check it out, that made the "news" ...

O/T but semi-literate,,,er impotent...

Keifer's new show, TOUCH, starts 3/15 on FOX, consult local listings....

Any of you blogits besides me want to blog this show, as we did 24? Or has that boat sailed for Italy??

Many of the gags could be imported for Keifer regarding his confusion about his son, the future, and where the hell is Chloe? Just asking....it's an opportunity...

And to think it all started with a mention on this little old blog

Ralph ... that's an interesting take on Marilyn's review ... as I recall of the several (dozens? hundreds?) of her Eatbeat offerings, it's fairly similar to most of them ... she often would dwell as much or more on "ambiance" than on the "quality" of the entree ... she (I think) would try to inform her (very loyal) readers of the "entire experience" ... more than she would try to persuade them that "this is the best [whutever] on a menu between Chicago and Seattle" ...

Tnx for this link ... it's a facet of life here on the Northern Plains we rather take for granted ...

And now I'm off to enjoy (?) a weekend of intense hockey ... and try to not get arrested ...

Y'all here on the DBB play as nicely as usual ... I'll expect nuthin' less of y'all ...

WAGARA?

I wrote a lengthy, cranky paragraph about this idiocy, then deleted it all and replaced it with a handy acronym.

I admit to being mildly interested in hearing what she thinks of the menu at LB. I suspect the planked charred octopus and the lacquered grouper will be a bit over her head. Although they do serve a steak as a sop, I suppose, to German and Iowan guests, but if she orders it well-done, they'll throw her out.

Well, the snarks have arrived ...

I like Olive Garden, and I'm not going to eat octopus.
