Calcutta's chief minister has ordered the city of 14 million residents to be painted sky blue, taking inspiration from the new Indian government's motto, "the sky is the limit."

The Blue Man Group will sue for copyright infringement.

Does this mean no more "red light district", or will they use the K-Mart model for "blue light specials"?

At first I thought they were going to paint the actual residents sky blue which made no sense. Dave will blend right in with his blue shirts.

Do they have to repaint at nightfall?

Cindy, you mean they are not painting the people? But what about my comment ^^?

... Am I blue? ... dum-de-da-da-dum ...

Nah ... I got nuthin' ... this is stoopid enuf without me contributin' to the mental deliquency of political/gummint officials ...

OtheU: my thoughts exactly. Great theme song

Genius! Send this brainiac to Washington.

It's been done already. The city of Bundi (Rajasthan) is known as the Blue City: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundi

Now if they painted the 14m inhabitants of Calcutta blue, we could have a lot of fun with "Avatar".

p.s. We visited Bundi, it's actually a very nice place.

"Are you bluish? You don't look bluish." (Geezer reference.)

This guy is in real danger of being turned into his own Blue Man Group. So long as the pieces aren't too scattered.

*Is stumped by Ralph's geezer reference*

@Ralph: Yellow Submarine?

"IT department, can I help you?"

"This is your CEO. Cancel that outsourcing contract, NOW, you hear me! NOW!"
