The failure was in the execution not the idea. The problem is she tried to drive like a high speed getaway driver. Who would look for robbers trying to escape the scene in a Buick Medicare Wagon with the turn signal on, traveling 10 MPG under the speed limit? If she had stuck to being a camouflage getaway driver, when she went down the dead-end road she could have done the traditional 57-point Y turn and the cop probably would have stopped traffic for her.
