The rabbit used his lucky foot to lay a little scratch on his owner. Or maybe he was just hungry.
In any case, the homeowner woke up, grabbed her daughter and exited the house, leaving the bunny inside (choking).
Which would make for a great column for Dave,
and the moral would be: No good geed goes unpunished.
