Nuclear Penguin - at $53 a bottle? Who, besides Dave and Judi, could afford to sample that?

I agree PPB. I must say that you never tell a Scottish man or woman to do anything if you actually want them to do it. The non Irish side of my family is from Scotland. I learned a long time ago the best way to get anything done is to ask them not to do it. So to tell a Scotsman to drink in moderation is like waving a red cape in front of a bull. They'll either drink it until it's all gone or not drink it at all.

I accept your challenge, Dave.

Sausage Munchers. Har.

Shame on you, Dave.

You linked to an article that states, and I quote, "Tactical Nuclear Penguin". In doing so, you did not ONCE use the acronym WBAGNFARB. NOT ONCE.

Shame on you.

Isn't this exactly the sort of thing that would make a 9th season of "24" possible? Either in the writers' room or for the viewers. Or both.

i think i'd rather have 6 of these
Burning River pale ales
instead of one of those

If memory serves, those proofs are approaching that of whiskey. A twelve ounce bottle of whiskey will leave an impression if you down it in an hour or so.
Twice in my life, once on a dare and once when a policeman was approaching and I wanted to get rid of evidence (I was underage, not driving), I chugged that amount of alcohol.
Both times made for extremely short evenings.
This beer should be approached with caution, if at all.

How's the flavour? Is it hoppy? It'd make me hoppy.

Technically, anything above 8% is barley wine, not beer. Scotch is made from beer like brandy is made from wine. What this sounds like is near-scotch.

Simpler (and cheaper) to merely drop a shot of Black Bush into a pint of Guinness ... but that'd be sacreligious usageness of both the whiskey and the stout ...

*is dissapointed that FL only sells the wimpy 151 proof Everclear*

If you can get your hands on a bottle of the 191 proof, then you have something... (something really flammable, actually.)

I use more as a cleaning supply than a beverage. If you really want to clean a processor and heatsink of old thermal compound, you can't beat 95% ethyl alcohol that is food grade.

No cheerleaders were harmed in the making of this product.
