Boy, I know some states are boosting cigarette taxes, but that's a bit extreme.

from what I understand, that price is about right.

Funny thing is, he was willing to pay $23Q. Cigs are like that.

only if "rivals" really means "is approximately 3000 times"

"...and a $15 overdraft fee the bank tacked on." TYPICAL!

Has California tried this route? A tax rate like this would balance their budget for sure. Maybe have a little change left over.

Thanks, dog butt...doesn't it come in something a little sexier??
How about with a bit of lace??? A gal's gotta have protection AND style, ya know?

That beats the 81 billion dollars that this guy paid for gasoline a while back. Why is it always gas stations that do this?

Siouxie, Wiredog: Also, tactical corsets...
Posted by: Allen at Division | July 15, 2009 at 09:14 AM

Is a quadrillion more than a Brazilian?

I always thought underwire bras were dangerous and it's been my mission for many years to save women by removing them.

Josh Muszynski.... Is it just me cause I grew up near a polish community that didn't need this? (Mu 'SIN' ski)

I once had a package of cheese ring up at the register for $78,000. Crashed their system and I called them on their advertising that if an items rings up higher than the posted price you get it free.
*wonders who is Sio calling dog butt?*

NEWS FLASH
Josh Muszynski has just been named "Spending Czar" by the Obama White House Chief of Staff Rahn Emanuel. When asked how an unknown, inexperienced citizen could be placed into such a high profile position, Emanuel replied, "Anyone who could spend that kind of money in one shot certainly needs to be working for our administration." Emanuel further stated, "And we're looking for the guy who wrote that credit card accounting program too. He seems to have the type of brains that we could all benefit from. That's what I really call CHANGE!"

If I were him, I would quietly take advantage of my new frequent flyer mileage points.

Nope, Dan - I had the same thought. I grew up around Chicago. I can even pronounce "Hlavacek" without a hitch (or an aitch.) ;)

LOL Brian!!
Those are a LOT better, Allen.

Posted by: Diva | July 15, 2009 at 10:53 AM
Well that should make someone instantly give up cigarettes for good.
Posted by: Margaritaville | July 15, 2009 at 11:13 AM
I just hope that price is not, in any way, his account number.
Posted by: oneblanspace | July 15, 2009 at 11:17 AM
I hope the bank refunds his 15 dollar fee also.
Posted by: nursecindy | July 15, 2009 at 11:20 AM
I wonder if the Westpac Bank ever found that guy who was given 10 million NZD by accident, withdrew several million and flew away?
Posted by: Horace LaBadie | July 15, 2009 at 12:21 PM
There's been a rash of these, apparently due to a screw-up by Visa.
Posted by: Richard the Weasel-Hearted | July 15, 2009 at 12:51 PM
Priceless.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | July 15, 2009 at 01:01 PM
Cigarettes are 2.99 a pack here in NC. I wonder why the credit card companies never mess up and DEPOSIT 23 quadrillion dollars in your bank account? I'll bet it wouldn't take them long to fix that mistake.
Posted by: nursecindy | July 15, 2009 at 01:16 PM
*rim shot, Meanie*

And if the $2.3x10^16 was deposited in error and corrected the same week, would the account holder earn interest on that amount?
