I wonder if hip hop blasts out of it?

Looks like a project that would interest the Teutuls.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Pssht, that's nothing. The library where I work has a bookcart drill team, and one of my librarians has a fully pimped out Curious George-themed purple bookcart (yes, I know it should be yellow, but she loves purple).
*waves @ Librarian G!*

PS - IANMTU.

This is great. Anything that gets a kid away from the tv or video game console and encourages them to read is a winner in my book.

Wow, that is off the hook! Or, book, I should say.

And the rocker.

Men like to make passes
At librarians in glasses...

Words up.

Librarians should be on the terrorist watch. They're always trying to corrupt children!
Librarians give books to children!
Books contain knowledge!
Knowledge is power!
Power corrupts!

*SNORKS (AGAIN)!!* at Diva!! I just sent the link to my sister, who is a research librarian at Colorado College with the subject line... "I CANNOT believe I am sending this to you..."

Not authentic without at least one chair for smelly old men to fall asleep in.

We've got a book cart drill team and some flashy carts, too. Actually, there was a book cart drill team competition at the American Library Association annual converence last week.

The unshelved.com daily comics are mildly entertaining, by the way. All set in a library.

Book my pimp cart. Low budget panderers.

My sister is a librarian. This confirms my suspicions.

nursecindy ... would that be a wiener in your book ?

.
These librarians are a threat to national security. What if the terrorists got their hands on one of those souped-up book carts? 4/11 all over again!
Keep on top of this situation by reading this month's Cosie award winning blogs. All female this month, in honor of wise Latina's. And wise-*sses in general.

I loved the bookcart drill team championships last week. The Vikings were hilarious.
Posted by: Jemmy | July 16, 2009 at 07:03 AM
Wait a minute. Just how many of the folks posting on this blog are librarians?
I wish I could have seen the Vikings at ALA.

I mostly lurk, but I, too, am a librarian (we also have a book cart drill team.)
Posted by: DIANE | July 16, 2009 at 09:32 AM
Estelle, our team was there. :) I don't know how they did, though.

As a former library volunteer, I must say that is AWESOME!

That contest is sponsored by the Unshelved comic strip, which is about librarians in a small public library. It's a great comic, and I've laughed at the photos every year of the pimped library carts.
