Is our road painters leanring?

Painters misspell the word ''Scohol'' in school zone...
No they didn't. And no, it's not a word.
The students who attend Goulds Elementary School had no problem spelling the word "School," however, whoever... wrote this article has a problem with errant capitalization.

As painted by Foster Brooks. Alcohol + School = scohol.
Posted by: Horace LaBadie | June 25, 2009 at 10:51 AM
I agree. Alcohol may have been involved...or on their minds.

The parents of the Miami-Dade County students who pass by the misspelling on a state road thinks the mistake underscores the need for education and educators.
WSVN could use a grammar checker, too.

Woops! I thought it was S-K-O-O-L.

Before we pass judgement, are we sure there isn't a scohol up the road?
Posted by: Braniff | June 25, 2009 at 11:18 AM
Hey, hey....
I'm a product of the Dade County School System, where our motto is, "We put the K in Edukation!"

That's all kinds of messed up. Not only did they put the H stencil in the wrong place, they used it upside-down.
Posted by: The Dread Pirate Chris | June 25, 2009 at 02:59 PM
Bere was involved.
Posted by: Clankazoid | June 25, 2009 at 03:40 PM
The guilty person is the one who made the stencil. The mistake was made in the shop, not on the street.

"...the mistake underscores the need for education and educators."

.
It's Haitian for "school." All signs in Miami have to be tri-lingual, now. Get used to it. The Haitian word for "Stop" is "Sotop." Be careful out there.

I think it's a positive sign that the kids recognized it was misspelled.
Posted by: nursecindy | June 25, 2009 at 07:57 PM
It's a plot by the New World Order.
Posted by: Ralph | June 25, 2009 at 08:44 PM
as being one who is probably one of the youngest blog readers *anyone else 14?*, i can say that it is DEFINITELY a good thing that the kids realized it was spelled wrong. this is an elementary school guys. as ive seen, the middle schools arent much better. half the regular kids cant even read without stopping in wonder at the pronunciation of the word "astonishing". and "ergo" is not a big word!! okay bloggers and blogettes, rant over. :]
