The prosecutor said the defendant hit a man with a rock in a sock as the victim came out of his home to investigate a commotion on Oct. 17, 2007.

Just for the record, that prosecutor was not me.
Although for the first time in my life, I kind of wish it had been, just so I could have witnessed it first-hand.
