THEY'RE CLAIMING THAT PLAXICO BURRESS SHOT HIMSELF IN THE THIGH

But we know who really did it.

(Thanks to many people)

Perhaps Plaxico was so excited over the upcoming new season of "24" that he discharged prematurely...?

(OK, having snarked at Dave's take on the Burress shooting, I'm off to read the article...)

...And having read the attached article, I've got a more serious question: We're supposed to believe tha Plaxico Burress wasn't healthy enough to play for the Giants in their game with the Redskins this weekend (he'd already been ruled out with - snork!- a leg injury), but he was healthy enough to go dancing at a Manhattan nightclub?

Methinks the Giants ought to ask for their signing bonus back.

Plaxico Burress arrived at a police station early Monday, where he was expected to be charged after accidentally shooting himself in the right thigh at a Manhattan nightclub.

Isn't that punishment ENOUGH? Perhaps they could shoot him in the other thigh...

At least he didn't shoot himself in the wrong thigh.

Wes, that's eactly what my wife has been saying since it happened. He was OK to go dancing (or whatever) but not to play?

And yes, I think we need to see which strip club where Jack was Friday night.

He wants to plead 'not guilty' to firearm possession? How'd he get that hole in his thigh, the tooth fairy?

ftr - I'm healthy enough to dance at a Manhattan nightclub, but I am not up to playing for the Giants. But I'm also smart enough to keep the safety on my Glock.

When you have that much money, you don't go to a nightclub to dance. You hire someone to dance for you.

The article says the gun was found in Pierce's car. Then it says it was found at Plaxico's home. Was the gun in parallel universes?

Maybe Plaxico lived in Pierce's car.

Ok, ok, I'm silly.

I thought wide receiver was supposed to be a skill position.

OK, Plaxico's agent Drew Rosenhaus is on Monday Night Football talking about how "traumatized" he was when he heard "Plax" "had been shot." Sorta glossed over the fact that he shot himself with an illegal weapon...

That is an absolutely Olympian level of chutzpah. Like they say in Hollywood, "The most important thing in life is sincerity. Once you can fake that, the sky's the limit."
