oh my >insert diety of choice< i guess Hallowe'en is drawing close. scary stuff like that should sell well. i'm hoping there aren't similar costumes. i might freak out if some little kid dressed like that AND wearing the mask came to my door.
and yet, i would probably have voted for her. Hillary, not the doll.
Posted by: rickh | October 11, 2008 at 05:32 PM
Looks more like Ellen Degeneres to me. NTTAWWT, unless you're Hillary Clinton....
Posted by: Kathybear | October 11, 2008 at 05:47 PM
On the box, it says "Try Me". What do you suppose THAT means?
Posted by: SandyEggo | October 11, 2008 at 05:52 PM
That is definitely the "I just ate your heart! What are you going to do about it??" pose.
Posted by: Steve (The 24 Guy) | October 11, 2008 at 05:54 PM
My sister has the nutcracker model. Honest.
I can't wait for the Palin doll with working shotgun and pre-sharpened skinnin' knife.
Posted by: padraig | October 11, 2008 at 05:59 PM
(in case you thought pad was kidding...)
Posted by: Steve Haller | October 11, 2008 at 06:12 PM
And by the way...
(Scan down for a great Doonesbury, even though they have the strips in reverse order...)
Posted by: Steve Haller | October 11, 2008 at 06:18 PM
I feel your pain, Dave. Every day.
Posted by: Bill | October 11, 2008 at 06:24 PM
It looks like the vampire version of Amy Poehler
Posted by: Melody Platz | October 11, 2008 at 06:34 PM
I dunno. Based upon that posture, I'm thinking she just ripped one.
Posted by: CJrun | October 11, 2008 at 07:02 PM
As for costumes, I'm going as my 401(k) statement.
Scariest damned thing I've seen all year.
Posted by: Cat R | October 11, 2008 at 07:16 PM
I wondering who exactly a person would buy that for.
Posted by: Margaritaville | October 11, 2008 at 07:36 PM
Bride of Chucky???
Posted by: frodolives | October 11, 2008 at 07:50 PM
Marg'ville
personally, i would buy that for a friend who is a staunch Republican. and "surprise" her with it.
OK she's not really a "friend" she's my wife.
Posted by: rickh | October 11, 2008 at 07:50 PM
Grrrrr.... Must. Escape. Box. Using. Oversized. Head. Rawr!
Posted by: anne nahm | October 11, 2008 at 08:33 PM
What's worse, it's alive...
Posted by: frodolives | October 11, 2008 at 08:51 PM
14.99? That's cheaper than the famous blue dress at the Gap!
Posted by: LT | October 11, 2008 at 09:08 PM
Damn Steve. I had assumed Trudeau was making up the Palin doll to be funny. I guess I should have known better (that was a great series of strips).
As to the doll Dave has pictured for us . . . its in the eyes. It has crazy eyes. The kind of eyes that say "I can't believe all the sh!t I went through the past 18 months just to still be Senator from New York." That doll is on edge of doing something serious and violent.
I'm going to get another beer.
Posted by: cowhand214 | October 11, 2008 at 09:19 PM
I think the blog should vote on the scariest pictue today...
#1
#2
#3
or
#4
I'm split between #1 and #4...
Posted by: frodolives | October 11, 2008 at 09:47 PM
LT, *SNORKS* "The Gap!!!!!!!!!!"
Posted by: frodolives | October 11, 2008 at 09:50 PM
Geez! I am actually responding to Dave Barry! I read your clips when I lived in Miami over 17 years ago! Cool!
Ok. The doll. Yikes!! That is all I have to say. (You would think I could have thought of something better than that. Sorry!)
Posted by: Widget | October 11, 2008 at 09:51 PM
Frodo - My vote is for #3 (the woman who tossed boiling water on the groin of her husband) - anyone that looks that happy in a mug shot, is someone to be feared.
Posted by: SandyEggo | October 11, 2008 at 09:57 PM
Welcome, Widget.
frodo, I thought there was no number three.
That said, I vote for the giant fish.
Posted by: Cat R | October 11, 2008 at 10:02 PM
They also want you to "kick the habit". Is there a connection here?
Posted by: monsoon | October 11, 2008 at 10:04 PM
Wait a minute, # 3, that's Weezie, isn't it??
Posted by: Steve Haller | October 11, 2008 at 10:08 PM
yes, i got confused yesterday, but it does look more like mrs. jefferson...
movin' on up
to the big house
for throwing hot water on my guy!
movin' on up
to the big house
he lost all the skin from his thighs!

Normally the representations of horror icons are not frightening at all. The little dolls of Freddy Kruger and The Joker always seem to be more silly than scary.
This, however, is an exception. It is nearly as scary as the real Hillary.
Posted by: Uncle Scoopy | October 11, 2008 at 10:22 PM
I still think she looks like Florida Evans.
Posted by: Cat R | October 11, 2008 at 10:23 PM
I thought there was no #3.
Posted by: Wyo Cowboy | October 11, 2008 at 10:58 PM
Frodo, earlier you said Bride of Chucky; sure you weren't thinking of Bride of Frankenstein ??
Posted by: Steve Haller | October 11, 2008 at 11:17 PM
Are you sure that's not Suze Orman?
Posted by: SW | October 11, 2008 at 11:43 PM
*zaps in*
Why does Hillary have little T-Rex arms???
Nite nite, blog peeps!

Very good website. I liked it very much. Comments from http://www.valentineday.in
Posted by: Divya Jain | October 12, 2008 at 04:01 AM
Nah, the real thing is still way moer scary.
Posted by: Mot the Hoople | October 12, 2008 at 08:26 AM
Agreed, Mot. And good morning. The coffee's on me; is there an exotic S.A. breakfast treat you'd like to set out?
Posted by: WriterDude | October 12, 2008 at 08:31 AM
Oops. Closer to lunch time there, innit? Really, anything is good. ;-)
Posted by: WriterDude | October 12, 2008 at 08:33 AM
I'm going to put this doll outside on my front steps, next to my candy bowl, on Halloween.
THAT oughtta keep the neighborhood rugrats from taking my candy!

pssst, rick let me know where you find it. cj would be
horrifieddelighted to find that in his stocking christmas morning!Posted by: crossgirl | October 12, 2008 at 09:05 AM
It looks like the doll has a movable jaw. Can she "talk" and that's why it says 'try Me?' I wonder what she might say if you press a button.
Posted by: meme | October 12, 2008 at 10:20 AM
Cat, re: 7:16, does that mean you're trick-or-treating naked this year? (SNORK!)
Posted by: eilbeback | October 12, 2008 at 10:24 AM
meme,
see my 8:51 pm post on 10/11.
Posted by: frodolives | October 12, 2008 at 10:59 AM
Cat R and Wyo, I forgot that there is no # 3, but the damage is done...

Posted by: frodolives | October 12, 2008 at 11:02 AM
eilbeback -- *snork!* -- ok, that's scarier yet!
Posted by: Cat R | October 12, 2008 at 11:09 AM
If you think that's scary, imagine what one of Bill would look like.
Posted by: Mike Antonucci | October 12, 2008 at 11:12 AM
I'm wondering when the Monica Barbie comes out, complete with blue dress and cigar...
Posted by: frodolives | October 12, 2008 at 11:31 AM
ooooh.. scaaaaaaary.... uh, i'm guessing they have an over abundance of them...
Posted by: queensbee | October 12, 2008 at 03:58 PM
I couldn't quite make out / believe the text under her name -- yes, it really does say "Boogie Diva" -- so I looked for a better image. Found something even better: it bounces and sings. The horror, the horror!
Posted by: Richard the Weasel-Hearted | October 12, 2008 at 04:06 PM
Why can't I ever find stuff like this?!?!
Posted by: Moz | October 13, 2008 at 02:00 AM
Ooooh, those tiny hands look very dangerous.
And I think the "Try Me" is an incitement to violence.
Posted by: finikki | October 13, 2008 at 12:39 PM
I vote for picture number two, late but who cares. The guy in the middle is downright scary.
Oh, and the fish is kinda scary too.
