Crocheting is difficult; knitting is alimentary...
Posted by: Allen at Division | October 07, 2008 at 12:05 PM
I find this oddly cool.
Posted by: Cat R | October 07, 2008 at 12:07 PM
Mental illness.
Crocheting, now there's a hobby.

You link, we go for a nice, mind-clearing stroll.....

One day in high school, I had to dissect a pig and a sentence all in the same afternoon.
I'm still recovering.
Posted by: Erb's Point | October 07, 2008 at 12:20 PM
Heh! I once helped my Biology teacher dissect a cat (who happened to have been pregnant at the time of death). I'd have taken the dead kitty home in a jar but I don't think my Mom would have liked that. Grownups!

i'll take the yarn disssection over the real thing any day.
and i vote mental illness, even tho i have been known to make horribly ugly shawls under coercion.

No plague is worse than the wall plague . . .

The library had obviously run out of books, there was real crap on the TV and the truck delivering the beer to the local had lost its load.

*waves @ nora!!!*
(are you making plans to come down for the Hunt??)
Posted by: Siouxie | October 07, 2008 at 12:52 PM
Mot!!! LTNS!! how's it going? Is it happy hour over there?
Posted by: Siouxie | October 07, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Hi Sooz, happy hour has been and gone, it's 7 pm at the moment.
I may not always put in my 2c worth on the blog, but I do keep an eye on it just to make sure you guys don't misbehave too much

So that's what stuffed animals look like if you rip them up! I just always assumed they had cotton balls or something....
Posted by: clark Kent | October 07, 2008 at 01:20 PM
That would be great if your cat got tired of the regular old boring ball of yarn.
Posted by: Margaritaville | October 07, 2008 at 01:23 PM
Hmmm. I'm not sure what my knitting sister-the-RN will think of this...

And over here is my collection of cross-stitched portraits of serial killers.

"My mother made me a homosexual."
"If I buy her the yarn, will she make me one, too?"

My wife is an avid knitter. She is mentally ill. Proof: she married me.
Posted by: Peter M | October 07, 2008 at 01:56 PM
Hey, if people can find and sell pet rocks, why can't people knit disected mice? Maybe it's a case of "so crazy it's genius"?
Posted by: Melody Platz | October 07, 2008 at 02:00 PM
Ooh, the clear heir to my favorite blog (that died) http://youknitwhat.blogspot.com/ - worth looking at even now - but I also highly recommend the Yarn Harlot (yes, she was mentioned on Conan by Greg Kinnear on Friday!) at www.yarnharlot.ca
She's just funny.

And Peter M is wrong. I'm not mentally ill. Just a little unstable.

A plaque on both your houses!

This is great for us homeschoolers. It combines biology lab and home economics!

Katie in FL, don't forget art and math. A whole unit study in one project!

*waves at siouxie* !! Hi! i would love to be a part of the Hunt, i'm an *excellent* volunteer, as long as that means keeping everybody's spirits up all day and arranging trips for beer.
Posted by: nora | October 07, 2008 at 03:35 PM
I can't stand knitting but, this is strangely interesting. (Not sure what that says about me.lol)

And guys, check out that banana wamer!
Posted by: jon | October 07, 2008 at 04:12 PM
Jon.......do they make that is "plantain" size ?
Posted by: Jazzzz | October 07, 2008 at 04:23 PM
or "in" either
Posted by: Jazzzz | October 07, 2008 at 04:24 PM
jon, that cracks me up! My mother, GBHS, used to crochet like mad these holders for cans, glasses, etc. (Hey, in FL, you need something to soak up the perspiration from your cold drinks!) I had a million of 'em and handed them out to anyone I could. Most men thought they were "banana warmers" too...
Posted by: eilbeback | October 07, 2008 at 04:51 PM
wonders if this works in reverse. can you knit mouse guts into a nice sweater?
Posted by: crossgirl | October 07, 2008 at 06:06 PM
cg, I am willing to bet that YOU could. :-)

I'm thinking... "Martha Stewart when she wasn't shivvin' a snitch..."
Posted by: frodolives | October 07, 2008 at 10:07 PM

Posted by: danceswithbisons | October 07, 2008 at 10:53 PM
