I always thought civilized driving was honking at the car as I passed them. That way they had time to read my personalized license plate before I disappeared into the haze.
That, my friends, is being civilized.

Do they have "How's my driving?" bumper stickers? I'm sure they don't have the "Ask me about my Honor Roll student." ones. (everyone's to 'fit in' rather than 'stand out')
And they probably have the "I (heart) [picture of a dog]" ones.
