BEIJING CUISINE UPDATE

Tonight (it's Monday night here) my family ate at a restaurant that featured, among many other tempting menu items, Gastronomy Frog:

Frog

They also had Highest-ranking imperial concubine's milk bread:

Concubine

And of course they had Soup eel soup, which of course they had.

Eel_soup

We had mainly rice.

I'd have chosen concubine's milk bread.
If I was able to collect the milk myself.

No cheese?

Highest-Ranking is so much better than First-Runner-Up Concubine Milk Bread. It costs more but it's worth it.

the photo in the middle - that looks like some kind of dim sum. or some big ole eggs...

Dang. I always get stuck with the Loser Concubine Milk Bread.

queenie, I thought thems were eggs too.

Me too, Siouxie.

Dave, I thought you said you had manly rice and I was going to say "of course you did."

Maybe they're milky-white concubine buns?

Or, better yet, a concubine's milky-white buns.

Gastronomy over here (Czech Republic) means Kitchen

Kitchen Frogs?

*tries not to imagine that*

Isn't Concubine Milking this years Host-Country exibition sport?

*tries to imagine THAT!*

*tosses h up there somewhere*

Kibby, I believe Concubine Milking will soon be an Olympic sport.

DP Chris is already honing his skills (IYWIM)

also IYKWIM

Amazingly, I would have been afraid to have the rice too. What if that other stuff had touched it? Ew.

Gastronomy Frog WBAGNFARB, and Soup Eel Soup could be their opening act.

We used to have a restaurant near here (owned by a Sopranos cast member) called Soup as Art but Soup Eel Soup has more of an Oliver feel.

I love eel soup!
