I once knew a Spongebob fanatic
She kept all her toys in the attic
She took Mr. Squarepants
To the annual squaredance
And they locked her up right automatic.

Hopefully this won't give Nike or Adidas any ideas...I can just see Yosemite now...."Half Moon sponsored by Citibank!"

Half DOME...duh...
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | May 11, 2008 at 12:54 PM
AWBH: I think that Cisco Systems already has the Half Moon Bay naming rights all sewn up.

"Sequoia National Forest brought to you by Viagra."
I think I just solved the National Debt.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | May 11, 2008 at 01:03 PM
That is shoddy reporting. Where's the photo? I wanna see the thang. Sheesh.
Squarebob is aquatic - stupid vandals.

"I think I just solved the National Debt."
So aw, are you volunteering to serve as Dave's Secretary of the Treasury (OTUS)?
Posted by: SW | May 11, 2008 at 01:29 PM
Update - they caught one of the vandals.

THIS JUST IN - Happy Mother's Day to all BlogMoms, BlogMoms to be, Mom's of Bloglits and Blogits, and generally speaking all maternally inclined persons ever to have blogged.
Oh, and to Mama Blog Michelle.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | May 11, 2008 at 04:05 PM
word of warning - if you're gonna celebrate Mother's Day by taking a nap in the sun, don't wear jeans with metal rivets. I now have my first tat - looks a bit like the 'copyright' logo, which I guess is appropriate. But, owie.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | May 11, 2008 at 04:40 PM
Ouch Annie.
Posted by: jug | May 11, 2008 at 04:46 PM
Didn't I tell you to take off your pants?
Posted by: SW | May 11, 2008 at 05:45 PM
What Stevie said. Jeans are for kneelin' in dirt, not sun-lyin'.
Unless you fell through the ice, then by all means lie in the sun.

".....says the incident is part of an increase in vandalism in the area."
um, how would any vandalism not be part of an increase in vandalism in the area?
idiot!

I, as one Motha, am ready for a cocktail. Anyone wanna join me? (so I'm not really drinking alone, ya know)
Posted by: Meditrina | May 11, 2008 at 10:23 PM
I could use a beer Med. And a nap or 10 considering all of the running around today and yesterday trying to make sure everyone got to see their mom or step-mom. It was worth the effort since every one of the moms had a big smile on their face when all was said and done.
Posted by: Doc Rick | May 11, 2008 at 10:49 PM
Cool. You deserve a tall, cold one, Rick. I'm even buying. ;)
Posted by: Meditrina | May 11, 2008 at 10:59 PM
I appreciate it, but the honor is mine considering you're a single mom. Happy Mothers Day! What'll ya have?
Posted by: Doc Rick | May 11, 2008 at 11:01 PM
Since you're buying, I'll have a glass or Ornellaia (sic), a SuperTuscan that is big and juicy.
And kudos to you for driving kids all over God's green earth today with gas @ $3.70 a gallon. cough, cough, cough.
Posted by: Meditrina | May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM
somebody rang?
Posted by: Big and Juicy Super Texan | May 11, 2008 at 11:23 PM
Well, even in the midst of
evil oil companieschaos, family is the most important thing on Earth. *slides a SuperTuscan down Med's way*Posted by: Doc Rick | May 11, 2008 at 11:24 PM
Happy Mother's Day, Med. Hope you had a good one!
Posted by: Suzy Q | May 11, 2008 at 11:26 PM
Just for the record, Happy Mother's Day to all you blog gals raising children. Especially those of you raising husbands. I know it's tough, but the reward in the long run is worth it. ;)
Posted by: Doc Rick | May 11, 2008 at 11:31 PM
LTTG! Hope all you mothers had a wonderful day and the same goes for the wives, moms, daughters of all our bloglits! (for the men who sometimes act like moms too).
I had a great day with mine and I could use a drink or 10 just about now. Prom's over!!! YAY!
Posted by: Siouxie | May 11, 2008 at 11:40 PM
$3.70 a gallon!!! Where? Wait, I gotta get my keys.
Posted by: ScottMGS | May 11, 2008 at 11:42 PM
Hey, BlogKids! Hope everyone had a good Mom's Day. Rick, I hope my ex is just half the man you are, but I doubt it. Med, I got thru my first Mom's Day as a single parent, you have all my respect. Lemme buy you a big glass of something pricey, and Doc, a beer for you as well.
Posted by: baligurl | May 11, 2008 at 11:44 PM
Something in the mojito line for Siouxie, as well.
Posted by: baligurl | May 11, 2008 at 11:45 PM
Thanks, bali! I hope you had a great one. As a veteran single mom I can only say that it only gets easier/better. Our children make it all worth it.
*sips on her mojito*
I'm off to bed. It's been an exciting yet very tiring weekend here. I'll have prom pics soon for any who want.
Love ya all lots and lots!
Posted by: Siouxie | May 11, 2008 at 11:58 PM
((((bali)))) It gets easier. Trust me.
Sioux, the pics are Fahbulous, dahlink. Thanks for sharing. I'd lock her away. For the next 20 years or so.
Great fun. Brought back great memories. Thx. I survived Mom's day, and the obligatory phone call. Holy Sh!te! I asked for the time, not how to build the London Tower, complete with Big Ben.
Posted by: Meditrina | May 11, 2008 at 11:58 PM
Thanks bali! Being a single mom is rough. When I met Michelle she was raising two kids with a deadbeat ex and I was amazed at how she managed to juggle the little ones lives with such a limited salary. I thought I was tough but she's freaking Jack Bauer compared to me. :)
Posted by: Doc Rick | May 12, 2008 at 12:03 AM
Thanks, Med!! She looked beautiful and had a wonderful time.
Smoochies now...(you too, Rick and bali!)
NIte nite !
Posted by: Siouxie | May 12, 2008 at 12:05 AM
Rick, you're a gem. I'm gonna go niters now. All those naps have worn me plumb out. ;)
Posted by: Meditrina | May 12, 2008 at 12:06 AM
Pics of my gurls: Elizabeth and Olivia , as the Dorrmouse in Allice in Wonderland. Yep, I'm a proud Mama!
Posted by: baligurl | May 12, 2008 at 12:10 AM
They're very beautiful bali. You have every right to be proud. :)
Posted by: Doc Rick | May 12, 2008 at 12:24 AM
Thank you, Rick! Everyone else off to bed? Here, too. Have a good sleep!
Posted by: baligurl | May 12, 2008 at 12:28 AM
Mmmmm baligurl, it's kinda obvious where the gals get their beauty from.
Posted by: Mot the Hoople | May 12, 2008 at 02:24 AM
Well, this may be my last post for awhile as my unemployment has finally caught up with me. We can't afford the cable/phone/internet bill. Things will get better and I hope to be back in here soon. Until then, take care and God bless all of you! :)

Happy day-after-Mothers' day to all!
We had a good day- we went to the Botanical gardens, where we ran into some long-lost friends of mine. After not hearing from them for years and not being invited to the Annual Christmas party, I thought they had ditched me- turns out that they had kids a few years back and didn't broadcast the information widely. When I asked the male friend what he was doing now (job-wise), he told me that he had retired (he isn't but a few years older than me).
He bought Pixar stock in the IPO.
DAAAAAAMMN!

ddd - my family also went to a botanical garden this weekend as a Mom's Day treat. We saw an exhibit there on someone whom you are quite familiar with, I believe.

Punkin/Grandma - born on Mother's Day? Very cool.
Congrats, he's gorgeous.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | May 12, 2008 at 08:37 AM
Thanks, Meanie - I made him myself!
(He's an actual doll. Yes, it's a weird hobby, but there's a huge market for it. The weirdest part is that as you paint, you have to heat set the paints, so I frequently have baby parts in my oven!)
BUWHAHAHAHAHA!
Posted by: Punkin | May 12, 2008 at 08:48 AM
Oh, Meanie - In Darwins' Garden, do the plants kill themselves in stupid ways??
Posted by: Punkin | May 12, 2008 at 08:49 AM
Punkin, I'm neither a sociologist nor a biologist, but baby parts in your oven still has a very real-life ring to it.
That is an amazing, um ..... creation.
Sorry for the confusion, I thought you were expecting a grandgourd in the not too distant future, and I thought you were announcing his/her arrival.
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | May 12, 2008 at 08:56 AM
Rick - Come back soon! we'll miss you! (good luck too)
Punkin, that's why I love you man - baby parts in the oven has to be a good idea for a new SK novel. (It's precious though).
ddd!! - missed you, damnit. Hope you had a happy Mommy's day!
