I'm becoming way too cynical. With regards to finding the weapon, my first thought was "did they check the waistband of his pants?". You know, Darwinism being what it is and all.

Maybe he was using his groin area on the wrong partner on Love Lane.

The Groin is the low-end part of town. In the course of a year, many people are shot, injured or even robbed in the Groin. Love Lane runs right through it.
