Ladies, gentlemen, others (this is directed at everyone who's chimed in on this):

I don't know nearly enough about what's underlying all this animosity to make a judgement on what started it, who's at fault, who's got all the facts, who's making it better or worse, or what ought to be done to undo the damage, if anything can. I neither want nor am I entitled to answer any of those questions.

I will stick my naive and foolish neck out, though, and offer this very simple advice:

Clearly, there are folks, many of whom are, or at least were, friends, with disagreements to work out. Say nothing more about this for a day or two and just give that some serious thought. What happens after that is up to you. But I hope that whatever that is, it stays among you all and doesn't spill over here.

As they said in "Airplane": Good luck. We're all counting on you.
