Evening, DD!
juggie, wherever did you get that idea about sweet lil ole me???? I'm pure of mind and spirit, just like the compost heap. And I always like an interestin' party.
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 09:38 PM
I'm just good at reading people Tex.
Evening DD
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 09:43 PM
Tex - you suck head, but you don't pinch tail? That's just WRONG. I loves me some LA cuisine. Pure? Did I just come to the wrong blog? ;)
jug - got any jambalaya left? *holds out bowl*
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 09:49 PM
Here you go Diva.
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 09:50 PM
Evenin', Kids! I see I left the blog in filthy hands. I feel right at home.
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:06 PM
Oh, and funnily enough, I made a big pot of dirty rice just this mornin'. Anybody want some?
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:08 PM
pffffft. Guess I missed everyone again.
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:15 PM
Nope. I'll take some balli. Have a beer or drink of your choice on me. My tab is...well it's my tab. ;)
Posted by: Doc Rick | March 09, 2008 at 10:17 PM
*snags some of bali's rice to go with jug's LUSCIOUS jambalaya*
It doesn't get better than this. Oh, wait! I needs me one o' these and a little o' this to complete the meal.
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 10:17 PM
Whoops, added an extra "l" to your name. Sorry.
Posted by: Doc Rick | March 09, 2008 at 10:18 PM
Yo Doc Rick! Woohoo! Dirty rice demands Abita beer, and mine is extra spicy, on accounta I must have a Death By Spontaneous Human Combustion wish. I hope you like Tony Chachere's, cause it's all up in there.
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:21 PM
bali, we're holding full bellies and trying to figure out what time it is. As a plus, it's even chilly enough to freeze a nutbag in Lakeland's nutbag, swimming nekkid with torpid 'gators, but we have to wake up tomorrow while it's still dark and extra cold.
Gawd, I love DST!
Posted by: CJrun | March 09, 2008 at 10:22 PM
My favorite seasoning bali. Use it on everything.
Posted by: Doc Rick | March 09, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Hey, Diva, an icy drink's the way to go.
And CJ, I took my Harley out today...BRRRR! It was nice as long as I was standing still, but at 65 mph...yikes! Glad I had the dirty rice to come home to!
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:25 PM
evening Bali
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Hey Jug, How's the dancing?
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:31 PM
You bike, bali? Awesome! I've never had the guts to hop a Valkyrie (my favorite man's bike brand). :D
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 10:34 PM
evening, bali! I love dirty rice. *Holds bowl out for some rice* Make mine extra dirty.
I know what time it is. It's now!
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:37 PM
I got a Harley Sportster in the divorce. I figgered, if he gets a chick magnet, I oughta at least get a dude-magnet. I've only been driving a year, but man, I love it! It's white and silver, and way cool!
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:38 PM
*visualizes bali streaking by in a line of white and silver*
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:40 PM
bali, I was on a fast 40-footer coming around from the Gulf into Tampa Bay into a NE wind. Not THAT cold, but brutal wind and a pain in the rear to switch from sunglasses, to eyeglasses, to binoculars while trying to manage charts (what idiot builds a 40 foot boat with no indoor helm down below?). Honest truth, a couple of times I found myself confused, trying to focus through the binoculars on the chart next to me. Don't tell anybody, that would be embarassaing.
Posted by: CJrun | March 09, 2008 at 10:41 PM
waitaminit - bali's a streaker? man, the things you learn about folks!
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 10:42 PM
I'm quite shiny on that bike. OTOH, I look good passing out dirty rice. IMO, extra dirty means a whole lotta bunchy meat. That good for y'all? (I put alotta sausage in my DR.)
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:43 PM
Diva Diva Diva, I'd never streak. Well...maybe on that bike!
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:44 PM
The same idiot who only puts two stalls in a women's public restroom. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:44 PM
CJ, don't worry, i couldn't read those last lines without my glasses/
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 10:44 PM
Its been a quiet evening Bali. No dancing, I've been waiting for you.
Is the Sportster the 883, or the larger one (1200 I think?) I have thought about a bike, but decided that a sailboat will be my toy of choice in a couple of years
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 10:45 PM
That'll work, bali. GMTA
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:46 PM
you like sausage, bali? well, really what girl doesn't?
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 10:47 PM
*Hands DD an emergency pair of cheaters*
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:47 PM
I'll trade you a bowl of jambalaya for bowl of dirty rice. That way I won't have to have leftovers tomorrow night
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 10:48 PM
Link is best, especially with some good hearty mustard.
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:49 PM
Jug, it's an 883. Very sweet. I have a sailboat already, but she's a little girl, and I have to share her. She's a lake boat. But I love her and I love to sail. Maybe one day I'll get a girl to sail in the Gulf. I'd love that.
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:50 PM
Tex, yer killin' me! ILY!
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:52 PM
ILY? Please translate.
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:53 PM
I Love You. (I hate gettin' all mushy....)
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:54 PM
I love the lines on Sportsters. They just have a classic look about them. Maybe I am old school or something.
Small sail boats can be fun, but too small gets little uncomfortable on Lake Michigan. This city looks great from the water, especially at night.
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 10:55 PM
Evening! Funny ya'll are talking NO cuisine...I went to brunch at a NO style restaurant. Had eggs benedict with crabcakes...YUMMY!!
Posted by: Siouxie | March 09, 2008 at 10:57 PM
Damm, I thought you loved me bali
*snicker*
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 10:57 PM
My little girl is too little, IMHO. I want one with a galley and some sleeping room. I don't mind being cold, if someone's around to get me warm, tho. Right now, not so much.
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 10:57 PM
Howdy Siouxie
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 10:58 PM
Ah, bali, I'll take mushy any day. ILY back, sweetie!
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 10:58 PM
How little is she?
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 10:58 PM
Beignets with lots of powdered sugar...
SOrry I missed the jambalaya - love the stuff.
Posted by: Siouxie | March 09, 2008 at 11:00 PM
howdy, jug!
Posted by: Siouxie | March 09, 2008 at 11:01 PM
Next Sunday, we're going to have corned beef and cabbage. We'll make Doc bring the Guinness
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:03 PM
(((sIOUXIE)))) I love you, Girl!
And you know I love you, Jug, but I'm not a buttin' in kinda gal. My girl is a HobieCat, very sweet. I had a mono-hull, but I sold her so fast. My Hobie is called SweetHannah.
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 11:04 PM
Buttin in? Buttin in to what? I am confused, but then that's not unusual
That would be a lot of fun, but you're right its too small for here.
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:06 PM
Soiux, I'm in total lust. I'm way overdue for my NO fix. That's my favorite kind of cholesterol.
The canine princess and I are planning on a trip to Bogalusa, LA. We'll be staying in a dog-friendly treehouse cabin for a few days. This is for real. The cabin's built around a huge live oak and is 7 feet up in the air. A hot tub is at the bottom of the tree house ramp. Hope I can get some good cajun food in Bogalusa.
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 11:07 PM
Hot damn! That sounds good. I'll bring a bottle of Jameson's Whisky.
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 11:09 PM
bali, my buddy and I have a remuda of little sailboats. The only one I would use in the Gulf is the 14 foot Laser; small boat, but powerfully built. You get to thinking you're looking at a Gulf boat, send me pics. I've taken a Cal 25 from Tampa to Marathon in a bloomers-cr@pping storm and been out there on large research boats. It's tough to tell which ones are well made, from the outside. You need to know how the innards are knitted!
Posted by: CJrun | March 09, 2008 at 11:09 PM
Tex, if you can't get cajun food in a place called Bogalusa, then something is wrong. Very very, scary wrong
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:09 PM
I know you have a SI. That's what I'm not buttin' into. OTOH, if I get a big enough gal to sail Lake Michigan, I'll sure give you, (and her) a call. But you're gonna have to buy the vodka.
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 11:10 PM
Gotcha. I am a little slow on the uptick tonight. And I appreciate that. I am sure that we would bring the vodka and have a heckuva time.
My sassy gal has talked about coming here, but so far she hasn't
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:15 PM
((((bali))))) love you too, GF!!
Tex, I love Cajun food. I had the best blackened gator tail when I went to N.O.
Posted by: Siouxie | March 09, 2008 at 11:21 PM
I'll totally come up to run the lake once scuba season subsides. Get me a beer, willya?
Posted by: baligurl | March 09, 2008 at 11:22 PM
We should plan a blog get-together in NO. We had a ch@t party there years ago. MOre than 30 of us went from all over the states. Had the best time! Kareoke @ Cat's Meow! Good times!
Posted by: Siouxie | March 09, 2008 at 11:24 PM
Here ya go.
Posted by: beer fetching jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:25 PM
Some friends of mine just got back from Mardi Gras. They had a blast. I haven't been to NO in 30 years, I would love an excuse to go back
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:27 PM
Siouxie, can u plan it for late June or early July? Cus that would work for us BarryBoarders. Jus sayin'...

What is a BarryBoarder Bali?
Try saying that 13 times really fast....
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:31 PM
*sigh* Just got some bad news tonight. :-( Someone got a drink for me?
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 11:32 PM
*grabs beer out of bali's hand*
enough. You're seeing double.
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 11:35 PM
Oh, Sio, I need to show you my pics of Cat's Meow. It got pretty torn up by the looters, but it's coming back.
bali, a Hobie is not a lake boat. I'm not a big fan of driving one, because they steer like shopping carts, but they can be taken in the Gulf. I'm always looking at boats and I worked my way through grad school as a boatwright. Plus, I've been a Captain since 1983; you go boat shopping and don't ask me, first, I don't wanna hear any whinin'!
Posted by: CJrun | March 09, 2008 at 11:38 PM
CJ, did you ever read the book Wooden Boats about Gannon & Benjamin Boatyard in Martha's Vineyard? It was a fascinating book
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:46 PM
*vows never to go boat chopping - whoops! hands Siouxie back her machete - shopping without CJ.
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 11:46 PM
DD, I hope you're alright.
DST has caught up with me. Nite all!
Posted by: Texgal | March 09, 2008 at 11:49 PM
Good night Tex. I'm outta here too
Posted by: jug | March 09, 2008 at 11:52 PM
Tex, I'm good. My roommate's very sweet sister passed away about an hour ago. She was a dear lady and will be missed. Thanks, and goodnight!
Night to you, too, jug!
Posted by: Diva | March 09, 2008 at 11:56 PM
Haven't read it, jug. I learned planking from a guy from Maine and his Dad was a boat designer. I've been messing with wood hulls since around 1968; I have an old 40 foot mahogany over oak hull; at least for another week or two. I may be giving it to a 'wooden boat charity' up in North Carolina, where they teach kids how to do it and sell the finished product. I'm just a big chicken about strapping her to a lowboy and pounding her 32,000 pounds downs I-95 to Florida and I can't move her by water until I put lots of work into her.
But I'm not obsessed about giving her up, or anything like that.

Steinbeck's Rocinante!
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | March 10, 2008 at 12:12 AM
Nite to all that left while I was away. I was just on the phone with a dear friend who did something tonight that I am so damn proud of. Took the high road and reached out. I just pray that the person she reached out to realizes what they did as well and acts accordingly. I seriously doubt it, but one can hope.
Posted by: Siouxie | March 10, 2008 at 12:28 AM
Oooo, I'm going to have to watch you, Annie.
Mr. Steinbeck and my Dad disagreed on spelling, but they were pals. Mr. Steinbeck lived with us, during the late 1960s and Dad named Rosinante with an 'S,' just to p!ss him off. I hate to give her up, but I just haven't figured out a way to keep her and grow up. Her dinghy is Sancho; mine, less well known.
Posted by: CJrun | March 10, 2008 at 12:30 AM
Hmm... ripe like a "grape"
Posted by: jancroz | March 10, 2008 at 12:33 AM
CJ, you'll have to show me those pics another time. I've already lost one hour of beautimous sleep.
Sweet dreams ya'lls!
Posted by: Siouxie | March 10, 2008 at 12:41 AM
I hope for your sake she did too Siouxie.
Posted by: Doc Rick | March 10, 2008 at 12:41 AM
sorry...just thinking about steinbeck/grapes of wrath....done a bit of sailing on the Salty Wind here in the Channel Islands..
Posted by: jancroz | March 10, 2008 at 12:44 AM
Nite, Sio. I'm giving myself a day off, tomorrow, as it's been a busy weekend. I wasn't planning on posting any pics; I'll send you some next week.
Speaking for myself, I'm about burned out on New Orleans for a time. My brother's moving there, but I like more space around me.
Posted by: CJrun | March 10, 2008 at 12:54 AM
The high road is a lonely place, Sio. Trust me that I know. Also trust God to be in control of any difficult situation. He is always good. :)
Posted by: Diva | March 10, 2008 at 12:56 AM
Aaaaaand, I'm out for the night. Sleep well, y'alls!
Posted by: Diva | March 10, 2008 at 12:59 AM
jan, this is a reader's Blog; Steinbeck is allowed. He wrote 'Travels With Charlie' and named his pick-up truck 'Rocinante,' after he lived with my family. Annie has done the math, that's my guess. There was no way her comment came up at random. Her evil brain linked me being boat-perturbed (Rosinante), to the name of Steinbeck's truck.
That's why she cracks me up and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Posted by: CJrun | March 10, 2008 at 01:12 AM
Mornin' all!
Sorry I missed the beignets.
*Places out churros, since I miss Mexico already*
Bali- hope you still check this thread- check out my diving pix on my site (bottom left in the "album" section.
Been gone a lot lately and not blogging much, I sure missed y'all!
Anyhoo, gotta blog and run yet again- on day shifts this week. it sure is tough to get back to reality after spring break!
I'll try to check in later. Have a great day everybody!
Posted by: diverdowndoc | March 10, 2008 at 03:51 AM
*rolls eyes*
*takes churros and cafe con leche*
Thanks, ddd!! *smooch*
Posted by: Siouxie | March 10, 2008 at 07:26 AM
Yeah, Siouxie, your friend must be exhausted. After carrying the heavy burden of her awsomeness around all weekend, then climbing out of that ditch she has been in to "reach out". WTFever. She needs to reach out to the rest of us she has offended, as well. I could just puke.
Posted by: casey | March 10, 2008 at 08:45 AM
Yummm! Thanks, DDD!
Posted by: Texgal | March 10, 2008 at 09:50 AM
One would think that the apology(s) would be posted on the site of the hideous "nasty party". You know, the one where the true colors flag was flown. But since everyone involved in the character assassination *attempt* were so completely devoid of decency, it's probably completely unreasonable to expect polite manners.
Posted by: Doesn't matter | March 10, 2008 at 09:52 AM
Amen to the above comment. More than one person needs to apologize. But, they are too proud of being 40-something 12 year olds, I guess.
Posted by: casey | March 10, 2008 at 10:04 AM
*zips in*™
Interesting to see you haven't stopped spewing viciousness wherever you are, casey.
Why don't you think about giving it a rest? Everyone else has.
Posted by: Eleanor | March 10, 2008 at 11:19 AM
Apparently not El. Look in the mirror.
Posted by: casey | March 10, 2008 at 11:22 AM
Oh, and if I may, why can't I be awesome and wonderful and brave and strong for voicing my opinion? Why aren't you and the other members of the teenage girls club lining up to pat me on the back to tell me how much you admire me for my honesty?
Just pointing out the hypocrasy of the members of your little club. Y'all must get dizzy when trying to look in the mirror. You know, from spinning around and around trying to get a look at your 2nd faces.
Posted by: casey | March 10, 2008 at 11:33 AM
WTF????? Seems to be a bad attitude on display in the last part of this thread.
Hi Eleanor! Hope the nups are still fun.
Posted by: Texgal | March 10, 2008 at 11:43 AM
Yeah, Texgal, more than one bad attitude. Be careful with your new "friends" here, lest they turn on you and rip you apart in a very public, humiliating manner, then tell each other how great they are for doing it. Don't be fooled like others were. As long as you behave and don't act in a way or say anything that conflicts with their self-righteous veiws of how the world should work, then you will be fine.
I'm outta here, for once and final. I've said what I came to say and to continue playing with the kiddies will further draw me down on their level.
Have fun kiddies! Hope y'all continue to enjoy bullying and humiliating people! (I'm sure if you just "apologize" it will all go away and everything will be better.)
Posted by: casey | March 10, 2008 at 11:58 AM
I hope everyone's remembering whose blog this really is.
(Hint: neither yours nor mine)
Seriously, folks, is this what we want the people who come here for a few good laughs to think we're like?
There's lots of damage already done, and I'm not calling anyone out for blame. But, respectfully, how about we douse the flames now?
Posted by: Meanie the Blue | March 10, 2008 at 12:06 PM
Meanie, that would be too much to ask for. Out of respect for judi and Dave - that's all I'll say here.
Posted by: Siouxie | March 10, 2008 at 12:14 PM
Well said, Blue. *smooch*
Tex, if I could find him, I'd know how it's going. :) Or do you think that means something that I can't???
Posted by: Eleanor | March 10, 2008 at 12:21 PM
Out of respect for judi and Dave - that's all I'll say here.

Posted by: Doesn't matter | March 10, 2008 at 12:27 PM
El, your guess is as good as mine. Maybe he took a virtual "walk about."
This thread sure took a strange turn after midnight.
Posted by: Texgal | March 10, 2008 at 12:39 PM
That it did, Tex. Why don't we go play on a new one? :)
pssst, how long do walk abouts usually last?

Now there appears to be two posters using this name and "address", because the second post was not mine.
Thank You for your voice of reason, Blue Meanie. It means something coming from you.
