Dave, take it from one of us above the Mason-Dixon line - Gloves are your friend! I know you Miamians aren't used to that, but ....

Dave the snow and signs can be combined into a fun game of snowballs and targets...
cg, I once knew a lady who could write her name in the snow. Well, sort of. Her name was Dot.

But are you wearing a blue shirt, Dave? That's kinda important to the whole "jounalistic integrity" thing.
And, what's that in your pocket?
Posted by: Suzy Q | January 04, 2008 at 03:53 PM
can't those signs be used for sledding?
Posted by: crossgirl | January 04, 2008 at 03:53 PM
Thanks for the picture of the snow, Dave. Very glad you're there and I'm not. Where's yer gloves, hat and scarf (they're for the wind chill, my son tells me).

♪♪These signs were made for sledding.
That's what they're gonna do.

P.S. Huck plays bass if you need someone to jam with.

queensbee, Armonk is a suburb of NYC. Not "upstate." But I still imagine Dave's seen snow before. ;)

Guin - some city people call everything north of Yonkers 'upstate.' Maybe Queensbee is from Queens. NTTAWWT.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | January 04, 2008 at 04:47 PM
Yes, Queenie IS from Queens.
I know folks who refer to anything between Central Park and the Harlem River as "Upstate Manhattan".
I also love to say "Yonkers". Yonkers, Yonkers, Yonkers.
Yonkers!

Dave, have you hooked up with Achenbach yet? He's cold too. maybe you two could snuggle - for body heat. WHUT?

Did Sophie go with you to take the official Crap-Cam photos- and get a good excuse to get out of school? Not every 7 year old (is that right? It's hard to keep up with youngsters' ages nowdays) has the opportunity to cover presidential primaries with her parents, y'know...

It's hysterical how NYC people refer to anything beyond 10 minutes north of NYC as "upstate." Try coming north about five hours or so to where I grew up... Oswego! Yes, where they had 10 FEET of snow in a storm last winter... one storm! Also, to define how "up north" Oswego is, Joe Garagiola referred to Oswego as being "way up by the Canadian border" (which was a bit off, because it is actually on the shore of Lake Ontario) when he introduced the Oswego High School marching band (the "Marching Buccanneers") when they marched in the King Orange Jamboree Parade back in 1980 in... Miami! So it all ties together... ;-)
