And then there's this story, which sorta kinda is related... I sent it in but I think I'll add it here...
=============
headline: Darling, I am going to give you syphilis for Christmas
quote: "Getty cozy with diseases might not be your idea of a good time but GIANTmicrobes are hoping they will be the hottest thing since the teddy bear. The company has taken microscope images of viruses and turned them into larger than life -- much much larger thankfully -- soft toys."
Dave, if you check back to last December/January, you'll find a Christmas gift suggestion with better looking stuffed animals of grosser stuffed diseases... should you need some.
What, no prostate? I guess they don't want people to realize the uncomfortable fact that the traditional heart shape <3 looks much more like a prostate (especially an enlarged one) than a real heart.
True fact: I'm getting my gall bladder removed Wednesday. Should I ask the surgeon to put it in Tupperware in case anyone wants it? Why go for a plushie when you can have the real thing? (Or, you can make a plushie by covering it with dryer lint.)
Remember the infectious diseases ties?
I could use a few stuffed body parts for when our dog tears the stuffin' outta the kids' stuffed animals. But at $18 each, they'd tear the stuffin' outta my wallet.
Last year, my dad the high school science teacher gave the retiring sex ed teacher (who, coincidentally, was MY sex ed teacher) the gonorrhea plushie on her last day. Yeah, my dad thinks he's a laugh riot...
Are you kidneying me??

The sales blurb about the Ebola toy says: "Since its discovery in 1976 Ebola has become the T Rex of microbes. Share the love."
What's the ad say - "You Know You Want It" ?
