Seems to me we're all missing out on the big picture, here. Hares are rodents; squirrels are rodents, ergo the entire rodent family is being recruited into the international terrorism on war campaign.
Hares are not the only natural hazard to afflict Linate: it's also prone to bouts of dense fog. What with them being baffled at the increase in hares, it's no surprise that thye have bouts of dense fog - emphasis on the dense...
Hares aren't rodents. They're lagomorphs.
A rodent by any other name would still smell... bad.
Perhaps they should add bunny stew to the airport menu?
I tried to find a rabbit at the butcher shop for Easter dinner but these dang city butchers don't carry them. The neighbors might get worried if I brought my compound bow out to harvest one from the backyard. City by-laws, harrumph.
Airport bosses are baffled as to why the hare population at Linate has risen so dramatically in the past few months.
Duh.
