Anything's better than that Suwannee River song. (except a BM song).

I second the nomination for "People are Strange." Seems it would suit Florida just fine.

Sio, so Simply Hilton then?

Highway to Hell seems the most appropriate for all of those Florida Drivers' licenses that have been issued here of late.

People who live in Florida have strong opinions, apparently.

I nominate "Riders on the Storm" by the Doors, because of the line "Killers on the Road."

You know, I don't know why they must change it. "My Old Kentucky Home" includes references to slaves but I haven't heard that KY intends to drop the song. The MN state song (a notably PC state) only describes her sons as fair and strong. Isn't that sexist? Sorry, but I like tradition. I grew up with Old Folks at Home, and I'd like it to stay that way. Eventually, everything will become so PC no one will be able to say anything and free thinking will probably be outlawed, too.
Who's got the gumballs today? And can one mix gumballs and something refreshing from the Blogbar?

Preface: I lived in Florida for an entire year of my life and apart from the giant insects, drought, traffic, minor hurricane, tornado scare, lightning storms, wild fires, pounding sun, tourists (I made the great judgement call of moving to DAYTONA BEACH)and the fact that my apartment was broken into and all of my worldly posessions stolen, it was great!!
So, I hereby nominate a song by the Bloodhound Gang that goes "We don't need no water let the m*th*r****er burn...burn, m*th*r****er, burn"

I nominate "Insects" from Oingo Boingo's album "Nothing to Fear".

Posted by: Just Ducky | June 25, 2007 at 04:18 PM
Ducky NO. Not even I hate Florida THAT much.

Hey, what happened to The Orange Blossom Song, which they used to make us sing in elementary school when I was growing up in Miami Beach in the 1960s?
Posted by: JaniceG | June 26, 2007 at 02:14 AM
fsdf: I don't know that one. Can you hum a few bars?
