Snork at Annie!

Mom: Anything fun happen in kindergarten today, sweetie?
Kid: Well, Desre'e fell on her knee.
Mom: Did the teacher give her a band-aid?
Kid: No, but the policeman put handcuffs on her.

Do they make kindergartener-sized handcuffs?

Whatever happened to being sent to the principal's office? That was deterrent enough for me.
Posted by: Noob | April 17, 2007 at 07:17 PM
I'm sure she's a complete angel and will be cleared of all charges.
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | April 17, 2007 at 07:25 PM
I'll bet she won't "act out" again for a while. The
police only followed procedure.

I sure hope a night in the clinker will turn this girls life around.

An example needed to be made - next time the teacher says "I want you to color in the lines" the students will know she means business.
Posted by: shellann | April 17, 2007 at 08:06 PM
shellann - I'm embarrassed to say I read that as, "I want the colors on the line." Gotta stop watching those old Southern chain gang movies.

Bethie, they are trying her as an adult. She won't be out for a lonnnnnnnnnnngg time.

I wonder if this will affect her G.P.A. and her chances at getting into the military!
Posted by: jan | April 17, 2007 at 09:26 PM
Sort of puts a whole new meaning to the term "Kindergarten Cop."
Posted by: alslammerz | April 17, 2007 at 09:26 PM
This will, of course, go on her permanent record, right?

Good thing it was just the cops!
Jack Bauer would have shot her in the thigh.

i gotta confess, my first thought was
"Why can't these cops be working MY class of
hormone-driven jerksstudents?"Posted by: pepe | April 18, 2007 at 02:10 AM
Avon Park, Florida: Next travel destination of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
(Don't get me wrong, folks -- it was an absolute honor when the Rev. Jackson spoke at my first high school in Duarte CA. in 1977. I was thrilled to be in the gym that day. But he has since sullied that memory by flapping his
gumswings around every singlecaseperson whose story can beinflamed into racial tensiondistorted and oversold. And as for Sharpton, thanks to him three words induce a desire to vomit: Tawana Brawley Hoax.)Sorry, not at all funny, I know, and thanks for letting me vent. I'll accept an offer of a gumball, even though I was out of blogclass the day the euphemism was introduced (and so long as I don't fail my next DOT "whiz quiz").

I fully agree with WriterDude.
Girl got what she deserved and her (single-mother-parent) is a jerk and part of the problem.

I also wonder what happened to the Principle's office? They skipped over warning, detention, suspension and went straight to...arresting?? I do beleive there's two sides to this. I beleive she was acting out...but geez...get the principle, get her mom. No need to get the cops!! What is this world coming to? Only in America can you have a criminal record before you reach first grade. It's out of hand
Posted by: Tuxgal | April 18, 2007 at 06:40 AM
spare the cuffs, spoil the child.
Posted by: GungaDan | April 18, 2007 at 12:21 PM
No need to apologize, WriterDude. People who attended Duarte High need to vent a lot...

*passes gumballs to WriterDude*
Take two, they're little.
Can't say whether she got what she deserved, but what mother would say, "Gee, that's exactly what I expected would happen. She doesn't listen to me at home, so why would I think she'd do it anywhere else?"
Hey, CH - this comes awfully close to some of yesterday's conversation over on the forum!
Posted by: PetCo | April 18, 2007 at 12:34 PM
Ever notice parents who insist their kids are as pure as the driven snow are always clueless to how their kids really are like when they are not around?
Posted by: Kevin In JAX | April 18, 2007 at 01:27 PM
Thanks, PetCo!
jamester, you have personal knowledge of this? We should talk more when I'm not under the gun to get to work.
