not a good name for a playground, i wouldn't think...

at least not a playground for kids.

Woo!

whoo hoo!

my first FIRST in forever, and russell made it a simul.

sweet.

Wong Woo Hoo. (no relation to Cindy Lou)

This must be the park that Michael Jackson help rebuild after the last earthquake.

The only real Woo Woo is Chicago's Woo Woo.

I see China, I see Hong Kong, I see Uncle Chester is wearing a nice shirt the touts ping pong.

Dave, that's just wong. vewy vewy wong.

But it's San Fran-woo-woo-cisco, so it's ok. NTTAWWT.

Anyone else feel like a hamster on a wheel trying to keep up with the posts today?

'posted by' is scaring me. I 'woo-woo' in his general dilection.

Woo Woo YES, Annie!

besides being stuck at the office working! UGH!

I think "woo-woo" is what you yell during earthquakes whilst standing next to that unlovely brickwork.

That's just Wong....

annie - yes :)

siouxie, tell your boss that you have mojitos to drink, and therefore should be allowed to go home.

Okay, so two "woo"s make a "wong" but do two "wongs" make a "woo"? NTTAWongWT.

...and his candy-making brother, Willie Wong Kah.

sgirl, I'm already home ;-)

I meant earlier...during the day I missed most of the blogging!! waaaaaaaahhh

*mumbles something about dang stooopid taxes*

Well, at least you didn't end up at the Gavin "Ill Fuck my Best Friend's Wife" Newsome bar and grill.

Brad - ixnay on the uckfay or we'll icklepay your illday. IYKWIM.

Brad, Is there anything you'd like to share with the group? Don't worry, we won't judge you (unless your real name is Peter Small, then everything is fair game).

*SNORK* @ AWBH!

pssst - brad's woo-woo must be wee-wee...

*NORKSAY* @ Annie!

Hey, Siouxie - I found what you were looking for back on the auto-enthusiast's thread...right here.

C'mon, folks. Can't we just get a wong?

p.s., Med, I swear your post wasn't there when I wonged you.

Psh, that's tame for SF. You're lucky the sign isn't also sporting a picture of a "woo woo" or a wong, as signs are wont to do in The City.

Brad! Kiss the bot with that mouth! ;)

Why does "A wong in the hand is worth two in the bush" sound so...wong?

I thought this brog didn't make fun of ethnicities

Sorry guys and gals about using the fuckword. I was trying to call attention to San Francisco's formerly adulterous but now cleansed by rehab mayor. No harm intended.

What ethnicity? Where? We were funnin' with woo-woo. Is that a boo-boo?

I tried to segue into this from this comment thread, but just couldn't tie it together, so I'll just post it instead.

In case you all haven't heard, your favorite Colorado politician has announced his candidacy for the Presidency (Yes, of the United States).

http://www.longmontfyi.com/Local-Story.asp?id=15561

Gah! He used that word again! Cooties!

anon - didn't he do that already? Or did he forget he did it and did it again? Oh, woo is me.

Hey anon... At least we don't have to worry about him winning a recount in Florida.

That is one Ancient Chinese Secret I don't wanna know.

Actually this is a great playground, they even have miniature golf!

No harm done, Brad. And it's not often you see "formerly adulterous" and "San Francisco" in the same sentence. ;)

Annie: I think maybe he announced an exploratory committee to explore something. Apparently, they didn't do a very good job, if they suggested he run even though he just pissed off a very large state with a lot of electoral votes (I seem to recall Florida being somewhat important in a recent election).

The real question is, who should host the debate between Tancredo and Dave.

I have the perfect host.

Brad! What are you, 12??

Darn, Annie. I am still at work on the west coast, and the firewall won't let me see the perfect host. I guess I'll wait 'till I get home. Must be good.

anon - that'll give me just enough time to hit the road before you can smack me for posting that.

In the interest of fairness, I demand a HooHa playground.

maybe with a petting zoo

Actually, what with the newfangled television and teletype, all of America is aware of Newsome. And all of America has its political embarrassments. Heck, I may be mine on my street.

We were calling attention to your inability to express yourself without using the Brad word, which is lazy for a Blog where most people write for a living and manage to get through the whole day without doing.

No worries, CJ. GMTA. :) Snork Gadly.

Brad, this is a respectable family hilariously immature blog, but we generally refrain from the eff bomb.

ps Don't get on Annie's bad side, as she has a polo stick and a wicked sense of humor.

Throws an @ up one post.

Ahhh, I remembah rots of rafter as we prayed on da Woo Woo Wong. We sride on da Wong, we jump up and down on da Wong. We had a rearry happy day on da Wong.

And now we too old for da Wong.

Wong all gone.

Hey Punkin! The Yankees won their opening day game yesterday. How'd the Sox do? *snork*

Cheap shot, El. ;)

The Sox got beat by the, gasp in horror, Kansas City Royals!

But I stir rove you, Punkin. Wang Chong on the Wong.

Nice to be wuvved, Med....

El- The Spankees have no where to go but down, now!

You have to take it when you can, Med. :) One never knows what tomorrow will bring. :)

Says who?

You're telling me, El. That may be the only win of the season for the poor Royals.

*snorkkkk* like baseball matters! Did anyone see anything about last night's sporting event, or the one in January, or the one last March? It's right on the tip of my tongue, I can picture it... oh, wait:

GO GATORS!!

CJ, live it up while you can.

*weeps for Duke*

Gators can kiss my woo woo. er somethin'.

Hello everyone - this is completely off subject and my first time to post (I am usually just reading in awe all of your brilliantly witty comments [loud "sucking" "up" sounds in the background])but I really thought, during the kilt day conversations some days ago, that there was a link to a site that led to this really cool bagpipe performance by a band performing a mix of rock songs (maybe the red hot chili peppers)? Have I been smoking too much? Thanks for any help.

At your service, Lawchick. Welcome, realize there is no turning back now.

I just asked my 16 year old if she wanted to go play at the Woo Woo playground, and she echoed Addicted's Michael Jackson comment, almost verbatim.

I must be doing something right. LOL

For those of you who might like Rock Bagpipe:
Enter the Haggis is my new favorite band.

"Willie Wong" I understand. "Woo Woo" I understand. I even understand how they go together (I have two kids afterall). But why would you use one as the nickname for the other? This I do not understand.

DPC - Love Enter the Haggis: they're regulars at our Irish Festival. Check out The Elders, a KC band that is incredible and one of my favs. The Kelihans are also wonderful.

Okay, textlinkythingamajig did not work. Try this:

http://www.eldersmusic.com/

Ahhh, Med, I am so homesick now!!! Best local irish band around.....now methinks I need a drink to celebrate finding their website!

I'm a bit surprised that no one has mentioned the old joke about Mr. & Mrs. Wong ...

They were expecting a baby.

When Mr. Wong went to view the newborn in the nursery, he was disturbed to notice that the baby did not have the physiognomy he expected ... it was clearly evident that at least one of the parents was apparently Caucasian.

He went to his wife's room, and said, "Missy, two Wongs do not make a White."

She replied, "It was purely Occidental ..."

I wonder if this playground is the same "Chinese Playground" in Chinatown where Willie Wong learned to play basketball. He died a couple of years ago. Maybe they renamed the park in his honor.

OK, that reminds me, Annie, of a trivia question ...

Can you (or NEbuddy) name the only team to win the NIT and the NCAA championships in the same year?

Is that anywhere near the Willie "Toot Toot" Brown alley?

Brad,

You are assigned to Saturday detention as well. Be prepared to clean the boards.

Sister Mary Elephant

There's some history to the re-naming of this playground. People outside of San Francisco and especially outside of SF's CHinatown, don't know the history.

Read the link attached about Willie "Woo Woo" Wong and his time in the national spotlight as a BASKETBALL player.
