You know what they say ...
Time keeps on slippin' slippin' slippin'
into the future

But I bet that thing can peel out of there, when it has to.

OK, somebody has to say it: Is that a banana in your stratosphere, or is latent heat in the troposphere just uplifting your air mass?

You can fry 'em you can slice 'em
Either way you oughta try some
Bananas
They are great with coconut or
Chocolate sauce or peanut butter
Bananas
Oh, bananas have it all
They make berries seem banal
From Montana to Mobile
Have bananas with your meal
They're the answer (what a deal!)
All your troubles seem to vanish with
Bananas!
Brought to you by the Minnesota Council of Fruit. When you're stressed out, try a banana. It's such a mellowing kind of fruit.
(The Reference Wench acknowledges that this song was on Prairie Home Companion a number of years ago. Please do not ask her why she memorized it.)

Didn't we see this yesterday?

I thought they already had one.

Whoa now!!!
Posted by: Jazzzz | January 03, 2007 at 06:43 PM
Awesome! Can it pop a peelie?

From the "Concept" Page:
"This is a daring action, defiant like a cowboy act. And the banana is macho and phallic, they say."
Even if it does curve a little to the left.

From the Collaborate link:
"We Urgently need...
-Or, any other skills you might find relevant to the realization of this project."
Well, I am not particularly knowledgeable on bamboo structures or experimenting with inertia propulsion...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Oh, and I estimate that I have personally eaten, like, I don't know, 4328 bananas in my lifetime. Is that relevant?

snork @Lisa - that is hilarious - the only thing I think it "defies" is logic

Dave said "The time has come"
Dammit, I missed it again. My alarm didn't go off.

Lisa - you forgot to say NTTAWWT
some of the best of us curve a little bit to the left

There are no links for job opportunities. Dang.
*Paging Mr. Mudstuffing* We need something that sounds good to the theme of the Stars and Stripes.

Hi TCK. Welcome back.

Won't that just attract giant flying apes?
And isn't one baboon out of Texas enough for this country already?
Posted by: jon | January 04, 2007 at 08:29 AM
I'm having trouble determining if this is for real. All of the photos they provide look faked, even the one of the banana on the ground and under construction.

Did anyone else sign up for their emails? I urgently need to know of updates regarding this famed banana experiment.
Posted by: Casey J. | January 04, 2007 at 11:57 AM
Schade-look at the "proposed travel plan" of the banana. I think that seals the deal.

turns a bit to the left? Hmmmmmmmm, is his name Bob?Dija notice?.... in the photo section, the lone cowboy in the white T-shirt seems to be, ah, 'expressing his approval' of the big flying nana.
