Rugby players carry purses?
Oh-kay.
Posted by: slyeyes | June 01, 2006 at 11:59 PM
$6,300? I assume that's in NZ dollars ... how much is that in metric?
Posted by: O. the U(manity) | June 02, 2006 at 12:10 AM
Oops!
$6,500 now ... and ... gotta remember, they're across the International Date Line over there, so the bidding closes sooner than we might think ...
Would these Rugby players use the International Date Line to pick up girls?

How much for your purse, Kaf?
Posted by: bbescuela | June 02, 2006 at 12:29 AM
7pm Saturday is 3am Saturday EDT.
At current rates:
6,300.00 New Zealand Dollar = 3,984.43 US Dollar (according to www.onlineconversion.com)
I have a TradeMe account.. I'll bid on behalf of anyone who wants it!
Posted by: Kafaleni | June 02, 2006 at 12:33 AM
Let me understand this correctly. I can buy an Amriecan President for $3984.43 amreican dollars?
Posted by: Cheryl Howard | June 02, 2006 at 12:35 AM
well.. I've never bashed anyone over the head with it yet, bb, so it could be considered unused. I'm sure that's worth more than you'd pay for a used purse. Or I could buy you one that looks like that and sell it for half of whatever the one on TradeMe gets.. a bargain, really!
Posted by: Kafaleni | June 02, 2006 at 12:35 AM
American. Opps.
Posted by: Cheryl Howard | June 02, 2006 at 12:36 AM
I think it's about another $135 USD on top of that now, Cheryl
Posted by: Kafaleni | June 02, 2006 at 12:37 AM
Judi's working late...
Posted by: marfie | June 02, 2006 at 01:13 AM
$7k and climbing. Un-flippin'-believable
Posted by: Kafaleni | June 02, 2006 at 01:27 AM
I know Kaf, there's a kind of a horrid fascination about it, isn't there?
Posted by: marfie | June 02, 2006 at 01:33 AM
Further down on the sidebar under odd stories in the Update link is a story entitled "Butt Busters Prowl Aussie Streets". kinda boring story, good headline.

SOMEONE'S BID $100,000!
*plots*
All I have to do is buy a purse and whack a rugby player in the head with said purse. Cellphone breakage optional. *LIGHTBULB!* My brother plays rugby! I wonder how he'll feel about being whacked with a purse?

One of the questions to the seller- "Does this come with Masoe's girls blouse? posted by: cronin7 (272 ) 11:05 pm, Thu 1 Jun"
Posted by: Annie Where-but-here | June 02, 2006 at 02:49 AM
eep.. minor typo .. $10,000. Still, it's over $11,000 now.. and the owner of the purse was on Campbell Live tonight.
Posted by: Kafaleni | June 02, 2006 at 03:40 AM
So basically what we have here is just another handbag undergoing its 15 minutes of fame...
Posted by: Betsy | June 02, 2006 at 04:34 AM
I think I see an image of Jesus on the broken cell phone. (That otta kick it up over the 10 grand mark).
Posted by: Layzeeboy | June 02, 2006 at 05:33 AM
Woops....meant 100 grand mark. 6:30 AM here on the east coast and the bid is currently at 106,000. But, on the bright side, there's free shipping in NZ.
Posted by: Layzeeboy | June 02, 2006 at 06:31 AM
Now the bid is up over $100,000,000.00, which seems a little pricey even if it is metric. I think they meant to bid a hectare.
Posted by: spinner8 | June 02, 2006 at 07:20 AM
Layzee, is that Jesus, or a flagellating albino monk? Hmmm, depends on how you hold it in the light...

Man, Prada can't touch that marketing. (It's now at 1,000,000)
Note to Prada: make sure you whack all your Malaysian children with each bag when they're done making it. And in Angelina's case: stuff the kid IN the bag.
Posted by: fudtheman(E'ed) | June 02, 2006 at 11:44 AM
it's a bit ridiculous, IMO. Bidding seems to have slowed now that it's over the $1m mark. On the bright side, I think that's only about $700k US if any of you wanted to bid on it.
Posted by: Kafaleni | June 02, 2006 at 03:04 PM
They appear to have reduced the bids to $21,569 NZ. Which is only... $13,594.91 US! A steal, really.

See if I can get this to work. test
