Gah! What a waste of money.

Wacky? I guess you could call it that. I'd call it freakin' corrupt and egotistical. But that's me.

“It’s a stealth strategy,” Crangle said. “The whole scheme involves rivers of underground money flowing to the Hunley from many sources..."
sounds about perfect for a submarine.

Maybe he should try paying for it with Confederate money.

Dave,
Has this crossed your desk yet?

I could only read about half of that article. *ugh* It's lunchtime.
But I'm reminded of another Individual With Power ...
"It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly without any choice ... I'm what you might call a water man, Jack - that's what I am. And I can swear to you, my boy, swear to you, that there's nothing wrong with my bodily fluids. Not a thing, Jackie."

MOTW - yeah, Mr. McConnell's Purity of Essence is a little low, I'd say.

So THAT's where the so-called 'Russian' submarine really came from last night on '24'...

"The 58-year-old McConnell, a libertarian who often criticizes government spending..."
Silly stupid man.

Peg Leg - Yep!
“People respect McConnell because he plays fair and grants favors, Jennings said. “But they are afraid of getting in his way on anything he wants.
It was mutually understood we would respect each other’s passions and not try to derail them,” Jackson said.”

Jackson: It was mutually understood we would respect each other’s passions and not try to derail them.
McConnell: I've got this passion for restoring the Hunley, and the old Southern ways ...
Jackson: Well, I've got this passion for (whisper, whisper, whisper) ...
McConnell: Get outta here, you Freakin' Prevert!

He "plays fair" and "grants favors"? I thought those two were mutually incompatible. And what's a Libertarian doing in that position in government, anyway?
Posted by: ScottMGS | May 16, 2006 at 04:06 PM
This gives new meaning to "the south will rise again"...but obviously, it's neither pretty nor cheap.
And what's the deal with the uniform? Shouldn't current elected officials appearing in public thus constitute some form of treason?
