LA UPDATE
The Remainders concluded their international worldwide three-city tour in Los Angeles with several performances that were stunning artistic triumphs, in the sense that nobody got hurt. We believe we are the first band ever to do a version of "Leader of the Pack" in which the Leader of the Pack -- played by Amy Tan's husband, Lou de Matei -- appeared onstage riding a Segway.
A number of blog persons showed up for the outdoor concert, including this group, who sat in the front row, which is why if you look closely at this exclusive CrapCam photograph you can see their ears are bleeding:
Also on hand were Mike Weasel and Mad Scientist, who met on the blog and are getting married, and who presented me with a tasteful T-shirt featuring a booger.
Also Annie-Where-but-here came by with a massive bag o' cookies, which were excellent and lasted maybe 38 seconds.
Thanks to all who came out on the Remainders tour.

well, i for one am glad to know that the little girls on stage were not the band's groupies!

Is she really going to with show?
Yeah, I don’t know, there she is
Let’s ask her
MOTW? is that a ticket to Dallas?
Aha!
Wow, it must be great listening to him
Yeah, did he belch into the microphone?
A-a!
By the way, are you going to you meet him?
I meet him in the newspaper
He wrote "booger" and "weasel"
Do you get the picture?
Yes, we see
That’s when I fell for the leader of the pack
I couldn't put the newspaper down
(down, down)
That blue shirt came from
The wrong side of town
(wrong side of town)
Now I'm his biggest fan
Gonna get that slut, Amy Tan
There's only me for the leader of the pack
One day my blog said, "I think I'm through"
no new booger jokes for the poo
(the poo, the purple poo)
I wrote him and asked him why
and all he could do was sigh:
I'm going to miss you, the leader of the pack
I got off his bike, and rubbed my sore butt
And his motorcycle said "whut"
And as he rode away on that rainy night
I begged him "continue to write"
But whether he heard me I’ll never know
Look out! Look Out! Look out!
(BULLETIN BULLETIN BULLETIN)
I felt so helpess, what could I do
Remembering all the things that we’d been through
on the blog they all point and stare
at my photo, and I don't care
I got to se him, the leader of the pack

Annie-He does have beautiful hair. I met him at a book signing, but it was my pre-blogging days so, no hug. ;-(
Anyway, I also noticed that he has flawless (but very manly) skin. On that day, he was wearing a blue shirt, which went well with his blue eyes.
He was warm and kind to everyone, even when their crapcams malfunctioned. I left a bigger fan than when I arrived. Bet you did too.
Mrs. Blog and Spophie sound just as wonderful, maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to meet them.

Annie-WBH - wonderful commentary. I'm envious that you got to meet Mrs. Blog and Mini Blog. Wow!

Wait a minute--who is Spophie?? Tch, I meant Sophie!

Dave - AnnieWBH's cookies must have been really excellent to have earned a mention on the blog.
I wonder: did you like the bon mots in Dallas?
Posted by: MOTW | May 01, 2006 at 11:05 AM
Uh oh.
Posted by: KDF | May 01, 2006 at 11:29 AM
Sophie is Dave and Michelle's daughter.

Sophie is the little dark-haired girl in the back, stage left, dancing. The child obviously has joy.

Yeah, I know who she is but the first time I accidentally changed her name.;-)

Hi all Checking in. I have a 2 min audio/video clip and lots of pictures of all the Dave festivities, but I don't know when I will get them up fro public viewing.
Lairbo- It would be wonderful if we could get the wedding webcast to the blog, but I don't think it will be possible. Some other bloglits may be in attendance though.
The short story: Weasel and I met at the "Peter and the Starcatchers" book signing in 2004. We were both dressed as pirates. We started dating shortly after that and will be Wed at the end of July.
Hooray for Dave for being such a wonderful celeb.
It was great to meet everyone at the concert and Annie is such a sweetheart. She stood in a book signing line with me for an author she didn't even know.
I will also admit to having a back and shoulders that are bright pink and visible from outter space.

M*d -
Which end? (Of July ...)
Not that I'm gonna request a re-a$$ignment to SoCal any time soon -- or ever -- but should the powers that be (in our company) decide to send me out there, I'd like to have some idea ... merely in case it would all be possible ... merely askin' ...

Great crapcam shots! WOOHOO! I'll be one of the lucky bloglits at Mike and Mad's wedding!
Posted by: Higgy | May 01, 2006 at 02:21 PM
to clarify what Mad said - I only stood in that book-signing line because I thought it was for the bathroom, not Joyce Carol Oates, who looked like she could use a few oats. I mean, skeletor with eyeliner! Someone needs to tell that woman to quit typing and get eating.

EL, here's a link to Roshan's RBR Gallery.
MOTW, didn't get a chance to say it last week.. You Are LOVELY! such a beautiful smile:)

Awesome show, Dave! Thanks for immortalizing us by crapcam. If the wedding pics don't turn out, we'll just use this one. Hope you and judi enjoy the shirts! I made them last fall and kept meaning to mail them off but I'm glad I got to give them to you in person. Don't worry, no boogers were harmed in the creation of those shirts. It's all just clever CGI.

Dave, is that a wig; or did your hairdresser just have a bad day...
... just kidding, I know that you do your hairdo all by yourself.
