Today is "Cook up a Storm Sunday". I'm going to make Roman Chicken, Chicken Piccata, and Pasta with prosciuto, mozzarella and peas; and pork chops fixed someway -- haven't decided yet. Half of what I'm making is going into the freezer for later.

El, thanks for supporting my Bruins. They've been ranked as high as number 1 this year, but just suffered an embarassing defeat to West Virginia yesterday.
Posted by: bbescuela | February 11, 2007 at 12:32 PM
And of course, we all know that Capitalised Jello WBAGNFARB.
Posted by: Marie in Barcelona | February 11, 2007 at 12:51 PM
Well, they're my Bruins too, boom boom. But I'm happy to share them. In my journey through many colleges in CA, while I spent most years at Berkeley, I did one semester at UCLA.
I think I'm one of the few people that love Los Angeles. :)
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 01:15 PM
I did the opposite. One semester at Cal, then the rest at UCLA. Hmmmmmm.
Posted by: bbescuela | February 11, 2007 at 01:29 PM
Like ships, passing in the night, perhaps. ;)
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 01:35 PM
was there any "docking?"
Posted by: slyeyes | February 11, 2007 at 01:37 PM
*snork*
I don't want to change such an interesting subject, but while we're waiting for boom boom's answer -
My ladybug looks a bit sluggish this morning. Do you think I could put some cookie crumbs near her?
OMG, I just poked her and she fell over. Dead????
*sobs*
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 01:46 PM
RIP El's ladybug.
Ladybugs are the mascots of Meghan's sorority. She shares an apartment with two sorority sisters and their place looks like they are dealing with ladybug infestation.
Posted by: slyeyes | February 11, 2007 at 01:57 PM
Hi & bye!
RIP ladybug

STOP THE PRESSES!!!
She's gone from where she fell over. There's hope.
Good thing I didn't bury or flush her.
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 02:40 PM
She flew away home!!
YAY!!!
Posted by: slyeyes | February 11, 2007 at 02:48 PM
That's what I'm thinking, sly! :)
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 03:13 PM
And of course, we all know that Capitalised Jello WBAGNFARB.
I actually tried to post that this morning (though I said "Capitalized") but pypetad was refusing to post.
Note to sly: I wrote to them as you suggested and they said if I sent them my IP # they will add it to the "whitelist" as you suggested. I wonder, however, as the letter I sent - and which they quoted - has the IP # on it!
My sister also went to UCLA (undergrad) and to law school at UC-Irvine. She worked at the law firm headed by former Secretary of State Warren ("call me Chris") Christopher before leaving the profession.

If I leave a delivery pizza (cheese and mushrooms) out overnight because there's no room in the fridge for the box, will it spoil?
Signed,
Need answer ASAP
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 09:32 PM
OK. I'll go find a way to get it in the fridge.
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 09:46 PM
I have eaten pizza that was left out overnight and I'm not dead yet!
Posted by: Peri | February 11, 2007 at 10:17 PM
Thank you Peri, but it's in the fridge. We Jews have an irrational fear of food spoilage, from all those years crossing the desert. :)
Posted by: Eleanor | February 11, 2007 at 10:20 PM
Laynie.. It probably has enough preservatives to be fine, but I wouldn't take any chances either...

Good morning moaties!
Its snowing. Again. And will continue doing so for the majority of the week. *sigh* That is not a complaint though!! It could be worse, much, much, much, MUCH worse. We could be in upstate NY. *shudders* Those poor people are living among igloo lined roads!

During my winter in N. Mich (Marquette) we had this saying about it getting warmer when the snow started to fall...
Posted by: kibby F5 | February 12, 2007 at 08:47 AM
Ooh. Danishes, Donuts and coffee ?!
No thanks DDi.
I'll just have some of this pizza I left out overnight and wash it down with this Bud Extra. (it's an Energy Beer, ISIANMTU)
Oh now that's good.
Also, yesterday while I did not break nor burn anything, I did unhook the brushblade (we call it a brush-hog) from the rear of the tractor and hooked up the boxblade (we call it a boxblade) and then proceeded to grade the 1/2 mile gravel (re: mud) drive from the county road up the main entrance of the Beaver.

Happy Monday MOATies!
I concur that pizza needs to be fuzzy before I will eat it.
Fish,
Sorry I missed your call last night. After talking to my dad for an hour and then my neighbor after her daughter had to go for an emergency C-section, I put it on the charger in the kitchen (it stays on vibrate...and I like it that way) so I didn't hear it.
Glad to see that Beaver was good for ya!

JU has been dispatched.
Some people call them brush blades... I call them kaiser blades. Now let me have some of those french fried pertaters.

I just re-read my first post from this morning and I think it should have read:

I went to High School and College in Oswego, NY - my mom still lives there.
She had 8 foot of snow when I talked to her yesterday. She loves it, but it does make it dangerous to drive. She actually got snowed into her office last week!
Sorry I've been MOATless - work has decided I'm suddenly good enough for 3 jobs (I wish I was kidding) so I'm a busy little Higgy....
Posted by: Higgy | February 12, 2007 at 10:30 AM
I have eaten pizza that was left out overnight...to no ill effect. Also, one time, some fried calamari that had been left out.
There were nearly a dozen people in this building when I got here this morning.
At least half of them had been here all night, since some time Sunday afternoon.
(This first issue is due at the printers by 1 this afternoon.)
El, I meant to mention before...my daughter once had a pet ladybug. She had gotten it from school, in a ladybug box. She kept it for quite a while. I think she gave it raisins now and then.

g'morning, all. I couldn't post earlier because - "Kimberlie"'s promise to the contrary - my 152 IP # has not yet been "whitelisted" by the thundertechs so I have to keep trying to get a different # (one starting 205 or 64) before I can post.
DDi & Higgy: I saw the people in Oswego County making those narrow paths between the huge mounds of snow and shoveling off their roofs. 100 inches in a week is ridiculous!
A huge Sarah J.-like "Yay" to the Dixie Chicks for sweeping 5 for 5 in the Grammy Awards last night. Jackie watched part of it after the Nora Roberts movie (Montana Sky) was over.
And TWO HOURS of Jack tonight on 24!
It is a cool and rainy day in So. Fla. so we may go to the movies this afternoon. Jackie wants to see Pan's Labyrinth.

hey Kibby, have you seen the movie "Escanaba in da Moonlight"? as a one time yooper you'd find it funny.

wolfie...woo hoo!!!!!!
On a totally different note...the two teenagers didn't COMPLETLY drive me crazy on the drive to the movies, and during dinner, and a visit to Borders, and the trip home, but it was close.
Apparently Friday night they were online...and watched a video entitled Charlie the Unicorn.
I finally watched it.
*said in a high pitched voice* "Candy mountain, Charlie! Candy mountain!"
They said it over and over and over and over...

But then there's also the Mississippippii River too. Sly would know more about that.

If the broadcast is breaking up...it is because of alllll the people using internet around here.
I don't really understand how it all works...but with the countless people in here all using internet...it slows things up which causes the breaking up.
If you go to PDBSN.com and listen there, it shouldn't be breaking up. Yes, there is a small download for that one...but better audio quality. Or so I am told.

Kibby, they called it the Mississississippippippi river because the river is so long. The Ohio River is much shorter. And, obviously the Misourti river is somewhere between. The Cuyahoga river... well, it's just dirty. And on fire.

but instead here are some pictures of kylie

Good morning!!
I think.
If one looks at the weather map, there is snow and ice to the west, north and east of St. Louis. So far, we just have rain, BUT, the weathertechs are promising us we will get a lovely bunch of wintry crap in an hour or so.
And gas is $2.09.
I'd better get going to get ahead of the traffic.
And for some reason, I'm not quite feeling like myself this morning.

And I liked the one with the tripod.
