Sly, I didn't see Christmas Story, but I'm afraid to ask about the flagpole scene

I knew you were going to ask....so...

I always have trouble getting tongues off of my pole.
Oh wait...that's my fantasy life...

And my last comment was made in the future (the LSD one, just to keep things straight). It isn't even 12:21 yet. It's only 12:13.
Posted by: Peri | January 05, 2005 at 07:16 PM
This blog is so f**ked. I read steven's comment and kibby'd several times before sly's response and they so weren't at the same time. I like it - it's a virtual LSD trip.

HA HA HA!

HOLY COW!! Just realized what time it is. I've got to get up early in the AM, so I'd better get to bed.
'night all!
Of course, this will probably post sometime after lunch.....today.
Posted by: slyeyes | January 05, 2005 at 07:25 PM
Peri, it makes it really interesting when trying to quickly read through the MOAT to get caught up. It's like reading Arabic, where you read from right to left.

I think.

OK, I'm out. Please don't fear me. Remember, these are tales from my past. As for the present - the car kicked my ass. 'Nuff said (to quote eadn).

'obviously' to those familiar with Temporal Blogometrics ,my first two posts are reversed. what isn't obvious is that there's a 4th post which inexplicably has been inscribed in the Great Pyramid and which in a much garbled and enciphered form, also appears on the $2 bill.

Insomniac...do the Illuminati know about this?
*sigh* just getting ready to go to bed I think. Have a 5 hour train ride to Chicago in about 5 hours. Kinda staying up so I can sleep on the train. Then an overnight there and finally fly home on Friday morning. I miss Seattle SO much.
I miss Rachel even more. I'm just thinking...at this time in two days I can be cuddled up with my love. And then I can tickle her until she pummels me with both fists! Ah the joy!
If any of you ladies can think of something romantic to do when I get back let me know. You keep raising the bar and have me spoiling her (especially Wolfie). So now I'm even more clueless than I was at the start.
I'm thinking of dropping back to the old stand-by: bring her flowers and give her a nice long massage by candle-light. After I make her a warm relaxing bubble bath of course.
Hmm...maybe chocolate should come into play.

Lol hi Bangi! *hiding from Fluffy*
Also you guys should pay attention to my exploits at wooing Rach...and give me ideas that worked well with your loves also.

Funny how men have to keep being more and more creative to give the woman a new thrill.
For women it is so much easier. I won't go into details but in acronyms...all we want is a beer and a bj...lol

Write her a book.any sort of book. my friend wrote a story where he was the hero and he saved his gf's life. he cut out pictures of famous ppl from the newspaper and magazines to illustrate his story. it the silliest sweetest thing ever.
Or u could write a ...sort of like a diary, with pictures of u and rachel from the past. a walk down memory lane sort of thing?

I just poked my head in to say that BMOC, from slyeyes' post way back there, takes place on MY campus.
And we are very deeply ashamed...
Those of us not in a sorority, nor addicted to MTV, but proud owners of brains that is.
Maybe it's a good show though... I didn't watch it.
But I've seen the guys and dolls and they aren't exactly "representative".
(Don't take that wrong, this is Florida, we've got pretty girls -and stupid ones- but I mean come on, they didn't even pick a non-white guy in their three)
Damn you WB...
OK back to fitful sleep w/o dreams of any kind.
Actually, my current lack of dreams scares me.
I've had 2 in the last 6 months.
One was just weird and maybe cool, but the other was a horrible nightmare where I ended up breaking someone's neck with my bare hands. Which was the first nightmare I've had in several years.
Anyway...Nite all!

Oh! and Joshkr...
Romanticism in any aspect should always (and is not limited to) Adventure, Passionate Sex, and you should always throw in Chocolate.
You can Never go wrong with chocolate...
unless she has a horrible allergy to the cocoa bean and her throat swell and she gets hives and itches all over and your wonderful adventurous date hoping to end in passionate sex takes you to the emergency room and a tracheotomy as well as emotional and physical scarring as well the slight chance of death, either hers, or her killing you after the swelling has subsided long enough for her to be able to see again.

It could deal with things that would never happen in real life.

Good morning everyone from sunny southern California -
"The sky is blue
and high above
the moon blah blah
and so is love"
very nice although freezing (43F) - but no rain today, TV weather people say, and I quote "The Perfect Storm" (yikes!) is coming Friday!
I want to send a thank you note to Peri for understanding the mentality of so.ca's when it comes to the weather - G**Damn it, we pay for it, and we want it!
And Peri, I'm sorry it'is sooooo cold where you are - keep that cute Jamie warm!
BTW Peri, (if you're here) what's the time difference between us? It's 7:12a.m. right now, regardless of what the blog clock says!
Posted by: Eleanor | January 06, 2005 at 06:12 AM
kibbyF5 - are you still here?? May I please just refer to you as kibby don't I don't have to exert the extra energy to press the shift key for the "F" in F5??? Get back to me on this! But...what I wanted to ask is - do you get many American TV shows?? My son lives in Amsterdam, and it seems any they get are usually about 3 months behind in plot development -
Posted by: Eleanor | January 06, 2005 at 06:27 AM

that would be so I don't!!

Joshkr (resp. to post from way back)
The Illuminati have kept the secret for over 3000 years (3 hours blog time), although you can decrypt it through the body language of the figures on the Sistine Chapel ceiling, which was painted by woman-in-disguise-Michelangelo. Anyway,in the Creation scene, God and Adam are telling us the first two digits of Joseph of Arimathea's IP address.

Eleanor, kibby is fine, or if you want to use the lower case "F", that's fine too. Just don't call me late for dinner. Or don't call me Just either (she'd be pissed).
And, No I don't get many American shows. I have 4 Czech channels and no satellite or cable. As for plot development, we're running 12 months behind. i.e. 24 Hours is running season 2, then I suppose MASH is next - real current stuff. Oh, Dallas had a short showing too.

Hi, Eleanor! Everything is going, but I don't know how! This morning I've been trying to help finalize plans for my best friend's going away party. She is one of those "where are my shoes" friends.
You know, most friends, if you call them at 9:00 at night with a problem, they listen and are sympathetic and say, "If you need anything, let me know." But when you call a where-are-my-shoes friend, she says, "Where are my shoes, I'll be right over."
So, she's the one who watched my kids whenever I had to take somebody to the hospital, the one who'd talk me through my depression, the one who'd call and say she was having a crappy day and make me meet her for a coke and we'd sit and PMS together. And have fun doing it!
So, outside I'm figuring out how much cake we need for 200 people, and who should present the going away gift, etc., while inside I am 8 years old, running down the street after the moving van, yelling, "Come back! Don't leave me!"

Thanks for makin the Calendars happen Joshkr!!
They's purty darn good.
The Oklahoma land run. There were Boomers and there were Sooners. The Boomers waited on the cannon Boom to start the run. The Sooners cheated and started staking claim to land early. I find it quite ironic that someone thought it a good idea to name our Collegiate Athletic Program after such a person.
Being an Okie, it means we have only two major colleges, OU and OSU. I think I even heard someone mention changing OSUs mascot from the Cowboys to the Husseins. Not that I'm saying that we would cheat to win or anything. No, no not me, I would never say such a thing. Oh look!!

sob!
Ok. I'm over it. and I've FINALLY (YAY ME!) caught up. I followed the breadcrumbs... although, I hope no one else needed them... you know us pregnant people and cravings. I saw breadcrumbs and BANG! (Hi Bangi!). I had to have them... sorry!
So my two-cents (sorry, would be more, but our bank acct has gone on a diet recently!):
Jeff :
The one thing she couldn't understand was when he said there are NO stitches because he puts them all inside! There is just tape (?) on the outside for a week. How can that work?
- they sew it on the inside and the stiches 'dissolve' .. its pretty neat actually. Thats what I had with my c-section. 'course, I scar from mosquito bites, so I still have a bit of one...
Crash : Gmail invites?!?!? Got any extra? I've been trying to find someone that has any.. none of my friends are cool enough, tho. I have decided there are other things to life than checking my email and I need more room! Stupid dot mac keeps deleting messages on me....
Joshkr : Romantic ideas??? Here's what I suggest - 1) Rent (or buy!) Season 6:Part 2 of
Sex & The City ((its FINALLY out!!! YAY!)) .. 2) Study the moves of Carries 'Lov-ah' carefully. .. 3) Repeat on Rach.
-Ex: After a night of Wining, Dining, and Mind Blowing sex she wakes up to him making Pancakes. mmmmmmmmm... pancakes...... See? He had me weak-kneed just watching . Then, of course, The Man told me I couldn't have Pancakces 'cuz they'd take too long to make and he'd have to go to the store first. *pout* ....

Something to think about:
Tim Wilson, comedian, had this to say about Martha Stewart:
"Boy, I feel safer now that she's behind bars. O.J. & Kobe are walking around... Scott Peterson almost made it... but they take the one woman
in America willing to cook, clean and work in the yard and haul her ass to jail."

Just - thank you soooo much - that was a beautiful piece of music - I went to their web site to see if there was any music to be downloaded but apparently not -
Here's what I was thinking: (long story so if you don't read that's OK)
Before Kenny Rogers was Kenny Rogers he was with a group called The First Edition - one of the gals in the group was named something Camacho and she was from San Diego - so after a while they became Kenny Rogers and the First Edition and, then, of course he became "big" and dumped them and was/is KR -
As the First Edition they had a concert here in San Diego and sang a song that had the lyrics "If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride" - that's all I remember about the song, but the phrase stayed with me -I don't think this is the song, but I lke yours a lot - do they have CD's out???

Just got my calendars. Wonderful!!! I may try the three-ring binder thing, that should work. Not sure on hanging it, but I will give it some thought as well.
I'll also throw in here that I have some gmail invites as well. Just email me if you'd like info. I got mine from my sister, like I needed more email options. That was my fourth one, plus with the new internet provider at home I'll get another one there. Five accounts...and hardly anything worth it there. Ah well. Hope springs eternal. (and it feels like spring here with the 72f weather. Wonderful, if very unseasonal)

{{{Mad}}} So so sorry. My sweet little Chessie had kidney disease and only lived a few months after the diagnosis. She could have lived longer if wanted to keep hospitalizing her, but she hated cars and the vet's office so much that I thought it was kinder to let her go. Before I had to make that final decision, she quietly slipped away one night. Fortunately I was awake when it started, so I sat and held her till she was gone.
I'll bet that Chessie met SoBe at the Rainbow Bridge and they're happily snorting catnip and chasing mice.

In one of the other fantasy football leagues I was in, I was the only person who congratulated the champion. In the other league, NOBODY did. Most of the messaged posted were from whiners. Both of those leagues included RL people that I consider friends, yet the MOATies league was the only one that was fun to be a part of.

*tries to think if there is a connection between blog friend's being friendlier than RL friends in a fantasy league*

From last night's Letterman:
"This Sunday, FOX kicks off the countdown to Super Bowl XXXIX with an hour-long special about Roman Numerals. Learn the ABC's of the X's, L's, V's and I's with Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Namath and MIT Mathematics professor Marvin Solomon. It's a 'super' educational opportunity! The Super Bowl XXXIX Roman Numeral Special - Sunday at V-I-I Eastern, V-I-I Central, V Pacific. Only on FOX.

ROFL! Can you believe that about two weeks ago I was explaining the history of roman numerals to my co-workers as a result of the super bowl? I'm such a geek. A lovable geek perhaps, but a geek nonetheless.
Homeward bound. Later all.

ARGH!
My computer is dying!
Eleanor - I hold you *personally* responsible since I was trying to find the lyrics to that song for you (which caused the resulting crash and permanant((sp?)) slow down). I DID find the song, but haven't been able to access the site it was on since the crash.
And NOW... somehow accessing that site gave my computer pop-up fever. So I downloaded a pop-up blocker. Results: Count on the blocker: o. Pop-ups I've been cursed with while accessing the MOAT alone: 5.

You aren't supposed to wholeheartedly congratulate the winner!
You do it a little so that they are completely surprised when you jump them in the parking lot, beat the senseless, and steal the prize.

Sympathy and hugs to Mad!
I have been wracking my brain to come up with romantic suggestions for joshkr. Makes me realize how few romantic gestures I have been the recipient of--that is, welcome ones. There have been some very unwelcome ones!
Rocky is slightly romance-impaired, I think. His most generous gifts usually have a sports theme, since he's always trying to get me to exercise more. (As I just mentioned over at BlogWatchers.) One year he gave me a red brassiere for Valentines Day. It was a sports bra designed to accommodate the heart monitor that came with it. Sigh...
One year he gave me a large piece of exercise equipment. The romantic part was that it came with a poem he wrote himself. It was a lovely poem. I just went down to the garage and found it, still attached to the underutilized equipment. Here it is:
When the snow is deep and cold
And the body says I'm old
Grab those skis and hit the highway
Sing with Frank--"I did it my way"
Forget the aches, forget the pains
It's frolic time, it's fun and games
Your lungs are strong, your knees, your back,
You owe it all to Nordic Track!
I loved the poem, not so thrilled with the Nordic Track. Anyhow, that's my suggestion. Write her a poem.

I didn't bad mouth him.
I carefully stated he was going to perform at my school.
*snickers* In fact, if it were free I'd probably go.
But it's not, so I wont.
And I was very careful not to hum ANYTHING said by you!
